We also salute two long-time public servants who will probably make a boatload more money in the private sector, an interesting job opening in Florida, and important news about the SEC chairman. Phil Strauss has rejoined Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten USA as chief compliance officer for the Americas. Strauss was general counsel and chief privacy officer of Ebates from 2013 to 2015, and Rakuten acquired Ebates in 2014. Strauss had been general counsel Health Fidelity for the last two years.

Walgreens Boots Alliance has named Matthew D’Ambrosio global chief ethics and compliance officer. D’Ambrosio comes to WBA from Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, where he had been chief ethics and compliance officer since 2010.

compliance jobsMurlidhar Lakhara has been named chief compliance officer of IndusInd Bank in Mumbai. He comes to IndusInd from FirstRand Bank, where he was chief compliance officer for two years.

CurrencyCloud, an online global payments vendor, has named Tanya Ziv chief compliance officer. Ziv joins CurrencyCloud from Lebara, where she was head of compliance and anti-money laundering.

In Canada, Jannett Ann Leggett has been named chief health privacy officer for the Northwest Territories. She will be based in the awesomely named town of Yellowknife.

In New York, the broker-dealer firm National Holdings Corp. has named Donald Runkle chief supervisor officer. Runkle comes to National Holdings from consulting firm Freeman Mathis & Gary.

PolarityTE—which, get this, makes software for online video games and owns patents for tissue engineering research—has named Holly Kramen chief compliance and chief privacy officer. Kramen comes to PolarityTE from Circassia Pharmaceuticals, where she had been chief compliance officer for two years. And since the company disclosed it, we’ll report it: Kramen is getting a salary of $275,000, plus performance bonus up to 50 percent of base pay.

And in Greece, George Zeris is head of internal audit for Persus SA, a food and beverages concern. Zeris previously was head of corporate governance for Frigoglass, a manufacturing concern.

Milestones

A thank you this week to John Roth, retiring after 30 years in public service. Roth is leaving the Department of Homeland Security, where he worked in the Office of the Inspector General for four years. He previously headed up criminal investigations at the Food & Drug Administration, and also held many enforcement roles at the Justice Department since the 1980s.

Also on the departure beat, Mark Kronforst is leaving the Securities and Exchange Commission after 13 years there. Kronforst has been chief accountant within the Division of Corporation Finance since 2013. No word yet on where Kronforst is going next. Kyle Moffatt, associate director of disclosure operations, will be acting chief accountant in the Division until further notice.

Stacy Colbert is celebrating one year as director of finance for Pearson VUE in Minneapolis.

Yvette Simpson is celebrating one year as supervisor ethics specialist at the FDA.

And Mike Rasmussen is celebrating 10 years as boss of GRC 20/20 Research, pounding out one good analysis after another of the GRC technology landscape from his home base in the greater Milwaukee area.

Vendors & Service Providers

Navex Global has named Troy Paredes to its board of directors. Paredes was a Republican member of the SEC in 2008 and 2009, and had been running his own consulting shop lately. (Disclosure: I do paid writing about compliance issues for Navex. It’s just as awesome as my material here.)

Adam Clark, associate director of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board until he left last May, has resurfaced at Marcum as a partner in suburban New York.

Consulting firm Stroz Friedberg has picked up Ed Glover as a vice president. Glover had been head of information security and compliance at RMS from 2015 until earlier this year.

Jessica Blazer, last seen as chief privacy officer at Teva Pharmaceuticals, just turned up at Fenwick & West as a senior privacy adviser.

WellCare is trying to hire a director of marketing compliance. Job is based in Florida.
