New Jobs
CONCACAF, the group that oversees professional soccer in North and Central America, has named Guilherme Carvalho to be chief legal and compliance officer—a position the troubled soccer federation sorely needed to fill. Carvalho comes to CONCACAF from Yahoo, where he had been associate general counsel for Americas and U.S. Hispanic since 2005.
Paul Zietsman has a new job as global compliance officer for SAP’s middle east region. He moves to that job from Sadara Chemical Co. in Saudi Arabia, where he had been head of trade compliance for two years.
Sibelco, a mining business based in Belgium, has named Frederic Guilmin head of internal audit. Guilmin previously was head of internal audit for the Delhaize Group in Belgium for almost two years.
FinCEN, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, has named Thomas Ott as associate director of enforcement. He will oversee FinCEN’s enforcement of the Bank Secrecy Act and its compliance requirements. Ott has actually been at FinCEN since 2014 in various capacities (and a long-time federal prosecutor before that), and has been acting associate director since March.
FTI Consulting, which has probably tried to sell you some of its compliance advisory services, has just appointed Jeff Walters vice president of internal audit. Walters previously spent two years in a similar role at Glatfelter, and was head of internal audit for 11 years at DENTSPLY International.
In Tampa, Fla., health insurer WellCare has announced that chief compliance officer Michael Yount has assumed the role of HR director on an interim basis, while the company looks for a permanent replacement.
Hamilton Lane, a private equity firm in Pennsylvania with $315 billion assets under management, has promoted compliance director Fred Shaw to chief compliance officer. His promotion is part of a restructuring that stems from the pending retirement of the firm’s counsel, Robert Cleveland. Hamilton Lane also hired Lydia Gavalis as deputy general counsel until 2017, when she will assume Cleveland’s role.
Liliana Salazar has been named chief compliance officer for the west region of Hub International, an insurance broker headquartered in Chicago. Most recently Salazar was senior vice president for compliance at Wells Fargo Insurance.
Fred Springer has new job as executive vice president at Santander Holding Co. Springer previously spent five years as SVP and global head of compliance for CIT Group.

In the vendor world, BlackIce Enterprise Risk Management has appointed Dale Paruk and Jens Brunke to its board of directors. Paruk has also been named the firm’s vice president of corporate finance. Brunke is managing director of CM-Equity AG in Germany and has extensive experience with MiFID. BlackIce sells software that helps financial firms manage regulatory compliance.
Milestones
Logikcull, a San Francisco startup trying to automate e-discovery and legal investigation processes, has raised a $10 million round of venture capital. The company claims that by managing compliance and e-discovery headaches in the cloud, it can help corporations handle those tasks in-house rather than hire outside counsel.

Cool-Sounding Job
CapitalOne is hiring a senior manager for ERM and GRC analytics. What’s it like to work there? I have no idea. But designing and managing systems to manage risk analytics is the compliance wave of the future. Someone might want to surf it.
