Compliance Officers on the Move: Sept. 2

Here is another roundup of compliance professionals on the move, for the week ending Sept. 2. New Jobs

Tomell deSilva Ceasar, one of the most sharply dressed compliance officers in the Middle East, has taken a new job as ethics and compliance lead at ENOC, the Emirates National Oil Co. He previously worked as corporate governance manager at Total for nearly seven years.

The University of New Mexico has named an interim chief compliance officer, Libby Washburn. Washburn comes to UNM from the Interior Department, where she worked on enterprise risk management. She replaces Helen Gonzales, who will retire in October. Gonzales was UNM’s first chief compliance officer, a role the university created in 2013.

CSI Leasing, an equipment-leasing business in St. Louis, has named Tom Brown chief compliance officer. Brown has been with CSI in various roles for 17 years, most recently as director of the Asia-Pacific region. CSI also named Barry Naylor international controller; he previously was chief credit officer for the firm’s European operations. Fred O’Neal, who had been international controller, was promoted to CFO.

jobsIn Chattenooga, Tenn., Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has promoted Mike Wynne to be director of Medicaid compliance and state compliance officer. Wynne had been Medicaid compliance officer since 2007, when the role was first created.

Joanie Dillett has a new job as director of employment, ethics, and compliance at LeEco US, a streaming-video firm based in San Francisco. She comes to LeEco from Synopsys, where she held a similar role for five years.

Walmart has hired Michele Robinson as regional ethics and compliance manager, working from San Francisco. Robinson previously worked at Kaiser Permanente for 10 years as a compliance consultant.

In the Middle East, Oman Arab Bank has promoted Al-Shareef Marwan Al-Khouli from head of the internal audit group to head of operations.

Susan Nielsen Hammond has joined the Redstone Initiative in Birmingham, Ala., as data protection and privacy technology counsel. She comes to Redstone from Regions Bank, where she spent nine years in a variety of legal and risk management roles.

Silicon Valley Bank has hired Laura Izurieta as chief risk officer. Izurieta previously was chief risk officer for retail and direct banking at Capital One. She has more than 20 years’ experience in regulatory compliance and risk management roles.

Milestones

Rogeria Gieremek is celebrating one year as compliance officer at Grupo Latam Airlines, in Sao Paolo.

Michelle Nader is celebrating five years as staff vice president for ethics and compliance at Wellpoint/Anthem. She has been with the firm (or its predecessors) in numerous roles since 1997.

Andrew Price has reached five years at Google, in several ethics, compliance, and legal roles. He is currently a senior counsel with responsibility for internal investigations.

Domenic Daher, director of internal audit and tax compliance at the University of San Francisco, is celebrating 10 years of also teaching law there.
