Compliance Jobs Report: March 17

We are back to a busy compliance jobs report this week. The head of compliance for GE Capital just decamped to MUFG, and Volkswagen has named a coordinator for its forthcoming monitorship. VEON in Amsterdam has a new group compliance officer, and Columbia is looking to hire two professors of ERM.

I gather these bits of gossip from LinkedIn, news alerts, and friends emailing me something to include. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn. This report depends on people like you helping me, so send some news!

Compliance Jobs

It recently came to our attention here that Kiko Harvey has left her position as chief auditor at Delta Airlines, after seven years there. No word yet on her next gig; Harvey also runs an internal audit leadership discussion group online.

Compliance JobsThomas Meiers has been named chief coordinator for corporate monitorship coming to Volkswagen for its emissions testing scandal. Meiers previously spent most of 2016 as chief strategy officer for Italdesign, and before that was head of governance, risk, and compliance for six years at MAN Truck & Bus.

Western Digital has named Andrew Maldonado director of financial controls, a new position at the company. Maldondo, who works in Los Angeles, previously did a consulting stint at the Lyndon Group and had been senior director for internal controls and compliance at DirecTV for 10 years.

VEON, the telecommunications firm in Amsterdam, just named Alfred Spencer III as group compliance officer. Spencer had been running his own consulting firm in Munich for a few years, and before that was chief compliance officer for the BSH Group, a subsidiary of Siemens.

In Brazil, Grupo EcoRodovias has named Leonardo Potengy to the new position of head of risk and internal control. Potengy previously had started and run his own bakery, which is totally awesome. Before that held governance and compliance jobs at Saraiva and Carrefour.

William Langford has taken a job as chief compliance officer for the Americas at MUFG, subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. Langford previously had been chief compliance officer at GE Capital for two years.
