Getting sued by the Securities and Exchange Commission? Then you may want to know that Bridget Fitzpatrick has been named chief litigation counsel for the agency. She had served as co-acting chief counsel since December 2016 with David Gottesman, who will continue at the agency as deputy chief litigation counsel.
Virginia MacSuibhne has been named chief compliance officer of Roche Molecular Solutions in Tucson, Ariz. MacSuibhne previously served as head of legal at Ventana Medical Systems, a Roche subsidiary.
Amazon.com has named Graham Ward director of risk intelligence. Ward comes to Amazon after three years at PwC, where he was director of risk assurance. No word on whether he gets free shipping as part of the perks.
Lateral move: Ali Hussain Ismail, the Middle East compliance head for S&P Global Ratings, has relocated from the United Arab Emirates to Saudi Arabia.
In Jakarta, Indonesia, Samuel Harsono has a new assignment within the Agung Sedayu Group. Harsono had been general manager of internal audit; now he is corporate internal audit director.
Becki Sweeney is the new business risk and controls adviser at USAA, the financial services firm that caters to U.S. military families. She comes to USAA from Petco.
In Modesto, Calif., Cristina van Elgort just took a job as compliance manager for Conifer Health Solutions. She comes to Conifer from the UC Davis Health System, where she was senior compliance analyst.
Home Point Financial, a mortgage originator and servicer based in Michigan, has named Ross Gloudeman chief compliance officer. He comes to Home Point from AIMD Consulting, and prior to that he was executive risk and compliance officer at Walter Investment Management Corp.
David Zack has been named chief compliance officer of R. Seelaus & Co., a broker-dealer firm in suburban New Jersey. He is also chief compliance officer for Granite Springs Asset Management.
In Southborough, Mass., Jennifer Scalise has been named director of compliance and ethics for Medical Specialties Distributors. She previously worked at Visiant Health, also in Southborough, as compliance director.
Vendors & Service Providers
Julien Artero has moved from EY, where he was a director in the fraud investigations practice; to PwC, where he is a director. Artero works in London.
Haydee Olinger, last seen as global chief compliance officer for McDonald’s, has decided to get back in the game as a senior adviser with BarkerGilmore. Olinger left McDonald’s in 2015.
Milestones
Barry Ronayne just hit one year as due diligence manager at Johnson Controls. He’s based in Ireland.
Gabriel Alberto Benavides has been named president of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Mexico chapter. He is the chief audit executive of the General Audit Office of Mexico.
And Calliope Rose Kelly was born this week in suburban Boston. Astute observers will notice that she and I have the same last name, and suddenly understand why I haven’t posted much this week. Welcome to the world, Calliope; we’ll get your LinkedIn profile created next week.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced this week that it is recruiting its first-ever “Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation”— a policy post that will, inevitably, work its way around to SEC chairman Jay Clayton’s determination to repeal Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404(b) for more companies. Salary will be $250,000 per year, which is no small amount of capital itself.
Rigel Pharmaceuticals is looking for a chief compliance officer. Job is based in South San Francisco, Calif.
And further down Route 101, Dermira is looking for a vice president of compliance in Menlo Park, Calif.
