Compliance Jobs Report: Aug. 24

In the Compliance Jobs Report this week: one step closer for a Republican nominee to the SEC, and compliance officer moves at Las Vegas Sands, CIT, TriHealth, and elsewhere. The University of Oklahoma is looking for a new audit chief; we have a bunch of career milestones both happy and sad; and lots of other industry gossip and news.

I gather these bits of information from LinkedIn, news alerts, and friends emailing me something to include. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn. This report depends on people like you helping me, so send some news! Read on…

Compliance Jobs News

We begin in regulatory world: the Senate Banking Committee has approved the nomination of Elad Roisman to fill a Republican commissioner’s slot on the Securities and Exchange Commission. Roisman would replace Michael Piwowar, who left the SEC in July.

It’s unclear when the full Senate might hold a confirmation vote for Roisman. Typically the Senate confirms commissioners in Republican and Democratic pairs, and Democratic commissioner Kara Stein’s term end in December, but President Trump hasn’t formally nominated Stein’s replacement yet (former Senate staffer Allison Lee was the rumor), so who knows.

That’s all for the week ending Aug. 24.
