Compliance Jobs News
Well you don’t hear this every day: Berklee College of Music has reassigned its assistant vice president for enterprise risk management, Philip Lima, to be assistant chair of the school’s voice department. Lima has been at Berklee since 2006 and also managed benefits and HR compliance. Outside the office, he is a baritone soloist with the Boston Pops.
We have a few compliance reshufflings at Robinhood, one of those hotshot fintech firms expected to go public later this year:
- Rich Jackson has joined as vice president of risk and compliance; he previously worked at Amazon for 11 years, most recently as senior director of finance;
- John Castelly will be the firm’s chief compliance officer; he previously worked at Personal Capital, where he was chief compliance officer;
- Smeeta Ramarathnam is joining as vice president of legal and regulatory affairs after a decade at the SEC; and
- Scott Friedman, who had been Robinhood’s chief compliance officer, will now serve in an advisory role as vice president of compliance affairs.
In Toronto, David Stark has joined Wells Fargo as an operational risk consultant and regional privacy officer for Canada. Stark comes to the bank from GfK, where he had been vice president for integrity, compliance, and privacy for the Americas since 2010.
ConvaTec, a medical technology firm in New Jersey, has named Michael Clarke global chief compliance officer. Clark joins ConvaTec from Indivior, where he had been vice president of corporate compliance for nearly four years.
Brandy Duso has joined DBV Technologies, a French biotech firm, as director of compliance operations. Duso will work out of DBV offices in New Jersey. She comes to DBV from Celgene, where she had been a senior manager for compliance audits and investigations. Nicely timed move, since Celgene and Bristol Myers Squibb agreed to merge two weeks ago.
Stacy Colbert has a new job as controller and vice president of finance at Edmentum, an education technology firm in Bloomington, Minn. Colbert previously worked at Pearson VUE as director of finance, and before that ran SOX compliance at SunOpta for a few years.
In Pakistan, Summit Bank Ltd. has promoted Samreen Kazmi from head of off-site monitoring to head of information systems audit.
In India, AstraZeneca has named Anghrija Chakraborty associate director of business partner compliance. Chakraborty previously worked at Aricent, a software firm, as global manager of risk and compliance.
And regulator news: the Financial Accounting Standards Board has elevated Susan Cosper, FASB’s technical director and chair of the Emerging Issues Task Force, to serve as a board director at FASB. Shayne Kuhaneck, assistant director for technical activities, will serve as acting technical director until a permanent successor to Cosper is found.
Vendors and Service Providers
Legal services firm Axiom has hired Amy Haines as a compliance professional working with life sciences clients.
Ahmed al-Kiswani has left his job as head of risk, governance, and compliance at the Boursa Kuwait to be a partner at PwC.
Glenn Hoffman has joined Mazars USA in its GRC practice. He previously was a principal in risk management at the Bonadio Group.
FTI Consulting just picked up Morgan Magionos as managing director in its forensics practice. Magionos previously worked at special counsel Robert Mueller’s office and worked on putting away former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
And Guidepost Solutions, which is running the monitorship for troubled New York City Housing Authority, has hired three seasoned legal and compliance professionals to help: Daniel Brownell, Dennis Walsh, and Elan Parra. Lord knows NYCHA and its compliance function need the help.

Aetna is still looking for a chief international compliance officer, a job the company first posted in February. Our sympathies to all who already applied and believed they were still in the running. Job is based in London.
Total Card is looking for a chief compliance officer, for a job in Sioux Falls, S.D. Visit the Corn Palace in Mitchell while you’re interviewing.
Enterprise Bank & Trust is recruiting a senior vice president for bank regulatory compliance. Job is based in suburban St. Louis.
