Compliance Jobs News
In London, Daniel Ibrahim has joined financial services firm Aurae as head of compliance and risk. He comes to Aurae — which breathlessly touts itself as “enabling the world’s most successful people to have an artful, personalized expression of the wealth, success and status they’ve earned,” so I’m out — from WEX, another financial firm, where he had been head of compliance since 2017.
Down in Melbourne, Australia, Lou Chadjilazarou has joined National Australia Bank to work in third-party risk management. Chadjilazarou (what a name!) previously worked at Property Exchange Australia managing governance and compliance.
Promoted: Elizabeth Simon, one of the nicest compliance professionals in Atlanta, from director of ethics and compliance at Cox Communications to the same role at Cox Enterprises, the parent company. Rock on.
Also promoted: Julie Dean, at Erlanger Health Systems in Chattanooga, Tenn., from director of corporate compliance to chief compliance officer.
Myriad Genetics has hired Abdu Luheshi as compliance officer for international markets. Luheshi comes to Myriad from Astellas, where he was executive director of ethics and compliance for the EMEA region since 2016. He’ll be based in London.
Medtronic has tapped Juan Carlos Curiel Izquierdo as compliance manager in Mexico. Izquierdo was previously a healthcare compliance and internal control specialist for Galderma, a subsidiary of Nestle Skin Health.
All the way from Mongolia, Battsengel Bayarbaatar has joined the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce as a compliance specialist. He joins the Mongolia CoC after several years as an independent corporate lawyer there.
Peter Chang, last seen at fashion house Steve Madden where he was head of internal audit, just turned up at Apollo Global Management. He’s working on SOX compliance and quality assurance there. Still based in New York.
Telecom provider CenturyLink has named Steven Proctor senior vice president of internal audit. Proctor previously worked at manufacturing company Flex, where he was vice president of audit and risk management.
Beth Burk, who left her job as global chief compliance officer at Aon earlier this year, has joined Green Thumb Industries, a legalized weed business that owns those Rise and Essence retail stores. She is chief legal and compliance officer.
VF Corp. has hired Marc Bohn to be senior counsel and head of anti-corruption compliance. Bohn previously worked at law firm Miller Chevalier for 12 years in its corporate practice.
Pat Ryder has joined home furnishings manufacturer JELD-WEN as a compliance paralegal in Charlotte, N.C. Ryder had been doing some solo consulting in North Carolina for a few months, and before that handled compliance training and communications for Avon.
Remember Susan Ward, recently retired from United Parcel Service where she was chief accounting officer? Just joined the board of freight and logistics company Saia Inc. She’ll serve on the audit committee. Joining her on the board is Donna Epps, who worked in Deloitte’s advisory practice until she recently retired too.
And we close in Tanzania, where president John Magufuli has appointed Charles Kichere the country’s new controller and auditor general. Kichere succeeds Juma Assad. Strange plot twist: Magufuli had fired Kichere earlier this year from his previous job as commissioner of the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
