Compliance Jobs Report: Nov. 29
You bet the Compliance Jobs Report is still on the case this Thanksgiving weekend! An abbreviated report, but we still have personnel news at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Amgen, MiMedx, and more. We also have a few job openings, and of course our compliance meme of the week has a Thanksgiving angle.
I gather these bits of information from LinkedIn, news alerts, and friends emailing me something to include. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn. This report depends on people’ like you helping me, so send some news! Read on…
Compliance Jobs News
First, Julien Durand has joined Takeda Pharmaceuticals as vice president and head of transformation, ethics, and compliance. Durand comes to Takeda after six years at Amgen, where most recently he had been head of international technology and compliance. He’s based in Zurich.
Jim Slavin has joined Stanley Black & Decker as vice president for global ethics and compliance. Slavin comes to Black & Decker from PwC, where he had been a director in the cybersecurity and privacy practice, with a focus on third-party risk. Telling that his experience there led to a global compliance role — we’ll see more of that in the 2020s, rest assured.
In India, Sourabh Arya has joined NatWest Markets as assistant vice president of risk. Arya previously worked at UBS as a business analyst and associate director.
Brazilian telecom firm Algar Telecom has named Alexandre Simões data protection officer. He comes to Algar from Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltd., where he had been internal audit manager.
Amgen has promoted Sharmeen Ali Khan to executive director of compliance for the European Union. Khan had been Amgen’s compliance director for Turkey and the Middle East for five years.
The MiMedx Group, trying to right the ship after an accounting scandal that saw two former top executives charged just this week, has named William “Butch” Hulse the company’s new general counsel. Lately Hulse had been hanging out at law firm Dykema, but some of you might remember him from Acelity, a med tech firm where he had been chief compliance officer.
Vistra, a corporate services firm based in Hong Kong (you gotta wonder that’s going these days), has named a few new compliance officers: Stephen Costello, regional director for the Americas and Caribbean; Nico Van Bockstal, regional director for India, Middle East, and Africa; and Salima Fajal, regional director for Europe. All three will report to Tanya Scott-Tomlin, the firm’s chief compliance officer.

Remember David Diamond, last seen at Lionsgate until earlier this summer, where he had been senior vice president for internal audit and compliance? Just turned up at Resource Global Professionals, where he’s doing consulting work. Looks like his first client is City National Bank.
