The Compliance Jobs Report this week has yet another hire at Carnival Corp., as well as personnel moves at Heartland Financial, Bill.com, Mohegan Sun, and lots more. A few compliance pros have joined the consulting world, we have three intriguing job openings, and it’s Drake again for our Meme of the Week.

I gather these bits of information from LinkedIn, news alerts, and friends emailing me something to include. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn. This report depends on people’ like you helping me, so send some news! Read on…

Compliance Jobs News

We start this week with Carnival Corp., which continues to build up its ethics and compliance function after getting roughed up in federal court last year over numerous compliance lapses. The company just hired Heidi Barker as vice president of corporate communications for ethics and compliance. She will report to Peter Anderson, whom Carnival hired as chief ethics and compliance officer last July. Barker comes to Carnival from Cleveland Avenue Corp., a food and beverage consulting firm in Chicago, where she was chief communications officer.

Bank holding company Heartland Financial has named Mark Silver a manager in its third-party risk program. Silver previously worked at MidSouth Bank in Louisiana, where he was senior vice president of third-party risk and business continuity.

Mohegan Sun, that big casino in Connecticut, has promoted chief audit executive Mark Rosa to chief information officer. Rosa had been CAE since 2016. You don’t see promotions like that happen too often.

Emily Vijayakirthi has joined Dar USA, the American subsidiary of the Dar Group construction conglomerate, as lead compliance counsel. Vijayakirthi comes to Dar from Black & Veatch, where she was a senior attorney and assistant compliance manager.

Farmers Insurance (everybody pause and hum that ‘bum-ba-dum-bum’ commercial jingle) has promoted Ann Robinson to chief compliance officer. Robinson had been director of operations since late 2018.

In Seattle, privacy software firm Spirion has promoted Scott Giordano from vice president of data protection to senior counsel for privacy and compliance. Giordano has been with the firm since 2018.

Netsai Massetti has left her role as director of global ethics and compliance at Kyriba in San Diego to assume a new role as director, governance, risk and compliance at Bill.com in Silicon Valley. Tough call to give up San Diego for Silicon Valley but we wish her well.

Allianz Holdings has promoted Margo Young to be chief compliance officer. She replaces Ann Alexander who recently retired. Young was previously deputy chief compliance officer, and has been with Allianz in various roles since 2003.

DWS Group, an asset management firm in Germany, has named Björn Rohde-Liebenau vice president of customer due diligence for the EMEA region. That’s a promotion for Rohde-Liebenau, who previously worked as an AML consultant for DWS.

Remember Aaron Pettit, last seen as chief ethics and compliance officer at Becton Dickinson? He just turned up after eight months’ hiatus at Axonics Modulation Technologies as general counsel. Based in Irvine, Calif.

And Gemini Europe, a subsidiary of that Gemini cryptocurrency exchange run by the Winklevoss twins, has named Blair Halliday chief compliance officer. Halliday comes to the operation from Circle, where he had also been head of compliance for Europe. The Winklevosses (Winklevii?), Cameron and Tyler, were made famous by their brush with Mark Zuckerberg while all three attended Harvard.

Milestones

Faisal Anwar has been named to the integrity & compliance task force of B20 Saudi Arabia, an anti-corruption group there. In the 2010s Anwar headed ethics and compliance for Habib Bank and lately has been doing consulting work in Pakistan.

Vendors & Service Providers

Ann Florkowski has joined Syntrio, a risk and compliance consulting firm based in suburban Chicago, as vice president for customer success. Florkowski had been vice president of global compliance at Chubb for the last 10 years.

Jenny Shen has joined consulting firm Ameri100 as managing consultant. Shen had been a senior internal controls analyst at CVR Energy

Vendminder just released a new version of its third-party questionnaires and an integration with the Shared Assessments SIG Questionnaire.

Open Req Orders

Oracle is looking to fill an ethics & compliance legal counsel role. Job is in Dubai.

Kyriba Corp. is looking for a global director of ethics & compliance, apparently to fill that role vacated by Netsai Massetti mentioned above. Job is based in San Diego.

U.S. Foods is hiring a director of ethics and compliance. Job is based in suburban Chicago.
