Compliance Jobs Report: Nov. 20
This week the Compliance Jobs Report has new hires at Augusta University, Bittrex, Fanatics, and several community banks, plus a flock of internal promotions. A compliance vendor just raised a boatload of capital, and we have job openings to note in boxes and banking. And our Meme of the Week!
As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs News
Augusta University in Augusta, Ga., has named Barry Grosse vice president of audit, compliance, ethics, and risk management (and also chief compliance officer, which is the title that really matters). Grosse comes to Augusta from the University of Miami, where he had been chief compliance officer for health affairs since 2017.
Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, has named Carolina Flomenbaum director of healthcare compliance for the Latin America region. Flomenbaum has been with Janssen in various roles since 2012, and until now was a regional healthcare compliance officer for Brazil.
Martin Liska has joined the Bank of Southern California, a community bank in San Diego, as its first-ever chief risk officer. Liska previously worked at Preferred Bank in Los Angeles as chief risk officer; I guess he preferred to make a move.
Also in community banking: Bell Bank in Minneapolis has hired Jesse Schwab as chief risk officer. Schwab comes to Bell Bank from TCF Bank, where he served as chief compliance officer and head of regulatory affairs.
Everlywell, a lab testing startup in Austin, Texas, has promoted Alexous Chukwuemeka from compliance manager to director of compliance and privacy. Chukwuemeka joined the firm in 2019.
Paul Conlin has joined Fanatics, a retail business that sells licensed sports stuff (“officially licensed everything,” the company likes to say) as assistant corporate controller. Conlin comes to Fanatics from Boeing, where he had been executive director of corporate audit since 2017. Here’s hoping he can dig up a Montreal Expos shirt for me…
We missed this until now, but earlier this fall Miriam Enriquez was promoted at Comcast Corp., from senior counsel for investigations and compliance to assistant deputy counsel in charge of investigations and compliance.
In Denmark, Martin Lønstrup is leaving Falck, a global provider of ambulance and healthcare services, where he has been chief compliance officer for four years. Lønstrup says he will be joining Swedish engineering giant Sandvik in January as vice president of compliance.
Bittrex Global, a cryptocurrency exchange, has hired Jeff Baron as chief compliance officer for its operations in Bermuda. Baron joins Bittrex from IG, an online trading platform, where he had been head of compliance. The company also just hired Ashton Easton as a compliance analyst, also working in Bermuda.
Renee Kurth has joined the World Wildlife Fund as senior director of enterprise risk management. She comes to the WWF after six years at the Nature Conservancy, the last three of them as deputy chief ethics and compliance officer. Keeping it green!
In London, Andrew Fleming has left HSBC, where he had been a senior risk reporting manager for the last few years. He moved to Deutsche Bank, where he will be vice president for reporting demand management.
Health insurance giant Aetna has promoted Justin Green from compliance lead to senior compliance lead. He’s been with the company for six years.
McKesson has promoted Meredith Hayes, from senior manager of compliance and ethics to director of compliance and ethics. Hayes has been with the healthcare supply giant since 2015; based in Pittsburgh.
And in Armenia, Marieta Melkonyan has TelecomArmenia as senior ethics and compliance specialist. She comes to the telecom business from VEON, where she held a similar role for a few years.
Milestones
In Brussels, Frédéric Guilmin is celebrating one year as head of internal audit at the Carmeuse Group.
In London, Marcelo Melo is celebrating one year at Société Générale, where he is head of compliance monitoring and testing.
In Atlanta, David Korn is celebrating five years as chief compliance officer at Aaron’s.
Vendors & Service Providers
Show us the money: Venminder, a startup selling third-party risk management software, just closed a $33 million round of funding. Meaning more sales people calling you for a product demo.
Black Knight, which sells risk management and analytics software in the real estate industry, has named Ryan Hallett chief risk officer.
Open Req Orders
Amcor, a consumer packaging business, is looking for a compliance counsel. Job is based in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
Ryan, a large tax consulting firm, is looking for a senior ethics and compliance manager. Job is based in Dallas.
Citigroup is looking for a senior vice president for compliance and policy. Technically the job is based in Tampa, Fla., but really it’s a work-at-home gig.
