Compliance Jobs Report: June 18

The Compliance Jobs Report this week has new hire news from XPO Logistics, Dun & Bradstreet, Brown University, CLEAR, and elsewhere. We also have job leads from California to Boston, and a new section of the report — compliance party pics! Meme of the Week goes out to Dwayne Johnson.

As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

We begin this week with XPO Logistics, the supply chain and logistics giant, which announced this week that Meagan Fitzsimmons will be chief compliance officer of the firm’s upcoming spin-off GPO Logistics. Fitzsimmons joined XPO in May to be chief compliance officer of XPO’s logistics unit, and now that unit will be spun out as its own publicly traded company later this fall. Fitzsimmons previously worked at Revlon, where she had been chief compliance officer for five years.

Ashish Vohra is leaving GSK after five years, where most recently he’s been based in Istanbul as ethics and compliance officer for Russia, the Middle East, Turkey, and North Africa. No word yet on what Vohra is doing next, but he says he’ll tell the world soon. The Jobs Report will keep you posted.

Truist, the horribly named successor bank after the BB&T and SunTrust merger, has re-assigned Patrick Zaloum from director of finance compliance to director of legal and risk compliance. (Zaloum is also a senior vice president.) Zaloum has been with the bank for 18 months.

Georgia Tech is losing one of its top athletics compliance executives. Shoshanna Engel Lewis, associate VP for athletics governance and inclusion, apparently has been wooed away to join Brown University deputy athletics director for governance and student services. She is relocating to Brown along with her husband, a fellow Georgia Tech executive, who is also taking a job at Brown.

Johnson & Johnson has promoted Krista Muszak, from SOX compliance and controls officer to supervisor for SOX compliance and controls. Muszak joined J&J in 2019 after a few years at TechData. She’s based in Tampa, Fla.

In Stamford, Conn., Shahzad Khawaja has joined CLEAR, that biometric business meant to speed you through security lines at the airport, as head of internal audit and controls. Khawaja had previously been chief audit executive at Xerox for two years.

Two updates from Argentina this week. First, Jacqueline Silvarredonda has joined Openbank (part of the Santander banking conglomerate based in Spain) as compliance officer. Silvarredonda joins the firm after more than five years at Citi, most recently as senior compliance officer.

Also, Accenture has promoted Ysabelyn Ruiz from contracts manager to legal due diligence specialist; Ruiz has been with Accenture since 2019.

Insurance firm Protective Life has hired Pooja Rahman as chief risk officer, based in New York. Rahman comes to Protective after more than seven years at New York Life, most recently as head of financial risk.

In Atlanta, Mosi Platt has joined Netflix as a senior security partner for GRC assurance. Platt had spent a few months this spring handling GRC issues at tech startup Frame.io; prior to that, he had been security governance team lead for another tech firm, Elastic.

Israeli fintech firm Nayax has hired Gal Omer as chief compliance officer. Omer joins Nayax, which is dabbling in cashless payment systems for retailers, from the Tel Aviv law firm Amit, Pollack & Matalon (where she’d just made partner at the start of the year).

Promoted: Stephen Miller, at Capital Health in New Jersey, from chief compliance officer to general counsel.

Also promoted: Mike Steinert, at Securian Asset Management in Minneapolis, from chief compliance officer to chief operating officer. He starts the COO role on Aug. 1.

And one more promotion: Tosin Umukoro, at medical equipment manufacturer Stryker, from director of compliance in the United Kingdom to senior compliance officer for Europe. Umukoro is based in London and has been with Stryker for 16 years.

Hilary Wandall has joined Dun & Bradstreet as chief compliance officer. Wandall comes to the data services firm (famous for its due diligence services and its FCPA enforcement sanction in 2018) from TrustArc, a privacy technology firm, where she had been general counsel.

Milestones

Congratulations to Melissa Carlson, celebrating 10 years at Centene Corp., where she is an ethics and compliance manager.
