This week we begin in San Francisco, where Phil Strauss has joined e-commerce platform StockX as chief risk and compliance officer. Strauss comes to StockX from technology firm Rakuten Americas, where he spent the last four years as chief compliance officer.
Yim Woodman has joined Agoda, an online travel business based in Singapore, as ethics and compliance manager. Woodman comes to Agoda after more than 15 years at Cummins, where she had been senior manager of ethics and compliance since 2016.
Here in Boston, Mark duBose has joined digital currency startup Centre as chief risk and compliance officer. DuBose was previously chief compliance officer at Circle, another fintech firm also based in Boston. He has not yet attended one of our Boston Compliance Meetup happy hours.
Melissa Hammer has left TD Bank, where she had been vice president of compliance and senior manager for U.S. conduct and ethics since 2018. Where to? Hammer has joined Asurity, a provider of technology for the mortgage banking industry, to head up fair lending risk and product management.
Sara García-Pinal has joined TV network Discovery as ethics and compliance director, based in New York. She comes to Discovery from real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, where she had been Americas compliance director.
Down in Charlotte, N.C., Ally Financial has expanded the duties of Nicolas Khouri. Khouri had been head of anti-money laundering investigations; now he’s deputy AML officer. He also holds the title of senior compliance director, and has been with Ally in various compliance roles for 11 years.
Pharmaceutical firm Kaléo has promoted Scot Steinheiser, from manager of corporate compliance to senior manager of integrity and compliance.
Medical tech firm Teleflex has promoted Roberta Griggio, from compliance manager for Italy to compliance manager for Europe. Griggio is based in Milan and has been with Teleflex for three years.
In Houston, DeeDee Hooper Dugat has a new job; she just joined Change Healthcare as a fraud and compliance investigations specialist. Dugat comes to the firm from Direct Energy, where she had been a compliance analyst since 2017.
In Malta, BNF Bank has hired Vanessa Vella as head of financial crime compliance. Vella joined BNF after four years at Apex Fund Services, where she had been head of compliance.
CareFirst, a BlueCross Blue Shield insurer for federal employees, has hired Eric Palmer as audit, risk, and compliance manager. Palmer had previously worked at data analytics firm Mathematica as senior information security analyst.
Indian utility Nayara Energy has hired Ashish Vohra as chief compliance and security officer. Vohra comes to Nayara from GSK, where he had been ethics and compliance manager for emerging markets in Central Asia.
The Hong Kong stock exchange, formally known as Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd., has named Adam Singer chief compliance officer. Singer joins HKEX from JP Morgan, where he was head of core compliance and operational risk for the Asia-Pacific region. He’ll report to Richard Wise, HKEX’s chief risk officer.
Consumer lending firm LoanDepot has named Karin Lockovitch chief risk officer. Lockovitch comes to LoanDepot after a few years at Bank of the West, where she had been chief compliance officer.
And FirstKey Homes has hired Rachel Hampson as a corporate compliance analyst, focusing on business licensing issues. Hampson interned for FirstKey earlier this year as she was finishing up her law degree, and will report to Elizabeth Simon, vice president of compliance at the firm. Welcome to the profession, Hampson.
Jim Gibney is celebrating 10 years at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, where he is executive director for corporate compliance in Europe.
Reema Patel is also celebrating 10 years; she’s at Walmart Canada, and is director of anti-corruption compliance.

Pharmaceutical giant Amgen is looking to hire a corporate audit manager for healthcare compliance. Job is based in Tampa, Fla.
Infor is looking for a senior corporate counsel for ethics and compliance. Job is remote, so it’s based in your spare bedroom. Reports into the chief ethics and compliance officer.
Northwestern University is looking for an associate vice president for risk, audit, and compliance. Job is based in Chicago. Go Wildcats!
