Compliance Jobs Report: Aug. 6

A rather international Compliance Jobs Report this week, with personnel news from Britain, Switzerland, Argentina, Russia, and even some updates from right here in the United States. Companies mentioned include Snap, Victoria’s Secret, Unilever, and GSK; and we have job leads in healthcare, banking, and building materials. Meme of the Week goes out to Kermit the Frog.

This week marks five years of the Jobs Report! As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

We begin today in Hawaii because, well, who doesn’t like Hawaii? The Kamehameha Schools, a private school system based in Honolulu, has named Keith Cureton director of ethics and compliance. Cureton had previously been a senior ethics and compliance director at UPS in the 2010s, and retired in 2018. Good to see him back in the game.

Remember Hemma Lomax, who departed her job at Disney earlier this summer as principal counsel in the company’s ethics and compliance function? Turns out she has joined social media business Snap as senior counsel for integrity and compliance. Still working from southern California.

In Switzerland, fintech firm YouHodler has named Igor Bannikov chief risk and compliance officer. Bannikov joins YouHodler after working for several years at a private bank in Switzerland and before that as a compliance consultant with the advisory firm Polixis

Matt Braun is joining Victoria’s Secret as director of anti-corruption. Braun has actually held the same role for 10 years with the parent company of Victoria’s Secret, L Brands, which is spinning off the lingerie retailer later this year. Braun will work with Forrest Deegan, who just joined Victoria’s Secret as head of ethics and compliance last month.

Pharmaceutical giant GSK has promoted Neil Falkingham to chief compliance officer. Falkingham has worked for GSK in various roles for the last 17 years, most recently as vice president of ethics and compliance for the company’s global pharma and vaccines operations. He’s based in North Carolina.

María Sol Santi has joined consumer products giant Unilever as business integrity officer for South America, working from Argentina. Santi comes to Unilever from Galileo Technologies, where she had been legal and compliance officer for two years.

Deliveroo, one of the online food delivery giants in Europe, has hired Daniel Jarman as head of compliance. Jarman was previously head of ethics and compliance at European telecom business VEON; he’d been promoted into the chief compliance officer role there only earlier this year.

Oil giant Shell has moved Serge De Bock into a new role as digital audit lead, essentially working as head of IT audit. De Bock has worked in various roles at Shell for 33 years, most recently as an enterprise program manager tinkering with SAP projects. He’s based in the Netherlands.

Also at Shell: the company has reassigned Qiong Wu to be ethics and compliance manager for its liquid natural gas operations in China. Wu has been with Shell in numerous roles for nine years, most recently as ethics and compliance manager for upstream and integrated gas operations in the Far East.

Amanda Leleszi has joined Oyster Point Pharma, a firm developing treatments for dry eye disease, as U.S. director of compliance and ethics. Leleszi comes to Oyster Point from MorphoSys, a biotech startup, where she had been associate director of compliance for the past year.

TSG Consumer Partners, a private equity firm with about $5 billion under management, has hired Drew Weilbacher as chief compliance officer. Weilbacher had previously worked at Promontory Financial Group, the well-connected consulting firm sold to IBM a few years back. Before that he worked at the Securities & Exchange Commission as a senior official in the Division of Examinations. (Promontory has been a hangout for SEC alumni for years.)

Anastasia Savvateeva has joined Fidelity International (an overseas subsidiary of retirement giant Fidelity Investments) as deputy head of financial crimes compliance for continental Europe. She joins Fidelity after working 18 months at the Pictet Group as senior compliance officer, and prior to that was an AML compliance officer at Deutsche Bank

In Moscow (that’s in Russia), telecommunications provider MTS Group has hired Nina Balinova as compliance manager. Balinova comes to MTS after nearly nine years at Syngenta, where most recently she was a business process analyst.

And Tracy Bradley Davis, who had been acting chief compliance and integrity officer at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since last November, is now in that role on a permanent basis.

Milestones

Safiya Jebbouri is celebrating one year as compliance officer at Group VYV, a large health insurance firm in France.

Casper Venbjerg Hansen just hit one year as director of business ethics and compliance at Ambu, medical device maker in Denmark.

Sheila Kiernan is celebrating five years at Salesforce, where she is vice president of global HR compliance.

Vendors and Service Providers

Breck Weigel, chief compliance officer at GE Aviation for the last three years and an 11-year veteran of the company, has joined law firm Squire Patton Boggs as a partner in its litigation practice group, working out of the firm’s Cincinnati offices. Weigel is only the latest to join the great diaspora of former GE compliance professionals.

Ethena, a compliance training startup, has struck a partnership with law firm Baker McKenzie to expand its training offerings; and also just raised $15.5 million in venture capital to ramp up its business.

Open Req Orders

Deutsche Bank is looking for a vice president of anti-fraud, bribery, and corruption; a role that should keep some brave compliance soul mighty busy. Job is based in DB’s U.S. operations center in Jacksonville, Fla.

CRH Americas, one of the country’s largest building materials manufacturers, is looking for a global compliance hotline coordinator. Job can be based either in Atlanta or Dublin, Ireland. I’d take Dublin.

And an entry-level job for the newbies: Stamford Health is hiring a compliance associate. Job is based in Stamford, Conn.
