Compliance Jobs Report: Nov. 12
The Compliance Jobs Report this week has compliance professionals coming or going at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Under Armour, Binance, Gopuff (not a weed business!), and several more companies. A few promotions to note, job leads in vacations, hospitals, and funeral homes (not in that order), and our Meme of the Week!
As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin at OraSure Technologies, a maker of home diagnostic testing and sample collection equipment. OraSure just hired Agnieszka Gallagher as its next general counsel and chief compliance officer, poaching her away from Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in Boston, where Gallagher had been chief ethics and compliance officer for the last 18 months. No word yet on when or how Alnylam will fill her old role.
Timothy Dumas has joined Under Armour as senior lead for its global ethics and compliance program. Dumas comes to the apparel maker after 10 years at National Grid, most recently as lead specialist in ethics and compliance.
Binance, the troubled cryptocurrency exchange swirling in regulatory scrutiny, has hired a former IRS investigator to be global director of suspicious activity reporting. Amjad Qaqish worked as a special agent in the criminal investigation unit of the IRS for more than 23 years, and spent plenty of time both on suspicious activity reporting and, more recently, on cryptocurrency issues. Good experience for the job; I suspect he’ll need it.
Debbie Lupton has joined Bayhealth in Dover, Del., as compliance officer. Lupton comes to Bayhealth from WVU Medicine in West Virginia, where she spent six years as compliance and privacy officer. Lupton also runs her own consulting business called Debbie’s Record Review, which is just a great name.
Gopuff, an online delivery service for household items, has hired Luis Canuto as director of corporate compliance. Canuto previously worked as deputy group compliance officer (and Americas region compliance officer) for Schindler Elevator Corp.
Promoted: Andrew Maldonado, at Wells Fargo; from vice president and operational risk officer to senior vice president and operational risk officer. Maldonado has been with Wells for the last 18 months.
Also promoted: Edoardo Lazarini, at pharmaceutical giant GSK; from ethics and compliance officer for Italy to ethics and compliance officer for Southern Europe, which consists of Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
Jamie Thompson has expanded her role at online home sale business Knock. She had been head of internal audit; she also just picked up enterprise risk management as part of her portfolio. Thompson has been with Knock since last April.
Mainstream Renewable Power, a developer of green energy systems across the world, has hired André Miniussi as ethics and compliance executive. Miniussi comes to the Dublin-based company from the Aon Center for Innovation and Analytics (ACIA, a subsidiary of Aon), where he had been a senior risk and compliance associate.
Barb Senters just made quite the move: after 15 years as a healthcare compliance officer at numerous large U.S. healthcare companies, Senters has joined blockchain business Core Scientific as vice president of compliance. Most recently Senters had been chief ethics and compliance officer at Sonic Healthcare in Texas for two years.
In Norway, Ingvild Eidem has a new title at Yara International, moving from regional compliance officer for the EMEA region to the more bland “ethics and compliance manager,” region unclear.
In Brazil, Vaneza Zadra has joined Sodexho as an internal control coordinator. Zadra previously worked at Paquetá, a Brazilian shoe company, as controller.
In South Africa, Anna Isaac is stepping down from her role as chief compliance officer for Nedbank Private Wealth, a role she has held for 12 years. Isaac will depart Nedbank next spring, apparently to join a bank based in the United Arab Emirates.
And here in the United States, Philadelphia-based Cabaletta Bio has promoted Heather Harte-Hall to be the company’s first-ever chief compliance officer. Harte-Hall joined Cabaletta in 2019 and had been serving as vice president of quality and compliance.
Milestones
David Falcone is celebrating one year at Merz Aesthetics as associate vice president of global compliance.
Cindy DePalo is celebrating one year at pharmaceutical firm Boehringer Ingelheim as associate director of ethics and compliance training.
Open Req Orders
Stony Brook Medicine is looking for a chief compliance officer. Job is based in Stony Brook, NY. LinkedIn estimates the salary for this job as $114,000 to $188,000, which strikes me as a huge range. If you interview for the job, let me know how accurate those numbers are.
Newcomer Funeral Service Group is looking for a director of compliance and risk management. Job is based in Topeka, Kans. Sounds like a lively gig.
Hilton Grand Vacations is looking for a vice president of privacy and compliance. Job is based in Orlando.
