Compliance Jobs Report: Nov. 19
The Compliance Jobs Report this week has compliance officers coming or going at Whirlpool, Santander, Zoll Medical, several universities, Citigroup, and elsewhere. Job leads this week in private investing, financial services, and food; and our Meme of the Week goes out to musical CEOs.
As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin with Tanya Jaeger de Foras, who until recently was chief compliance officer at Whirlpool. De Foras stepped down from that role in September, and now has turned up at agribusiness giant Ingredion as chief legal officer. (She’ll also hold the title of chief compliance officer at Ingredion, but we frown on dual titles here at Radical Compliance.) De Foras had worked at Whirlpool since 2015, and had been CCO since January 2020.
In higher education, Emory University has hired Kenya Faulkner as chief compliance officer. Faulkner comes to Emory from Penn State, where she had been chief ethics and compliance officer from the end of 2018 until earlier this spring. She succeeds Kristin West, who retired from Emory’s CCO job last year.
Sticking with higher ed, the University of Rochester has named Chris Butler its next permanent chief audit executive. Butler has been with the university in various roles for 15 years, and had been interim CAE since August.
Ariadna Quesada is joining Zoll Medical Corp. as privacy, compliance, and governance lead for the EMEA region, working from Spain. Quesada had previously been with medical device maker Hillrom since 2019 as compliance director for Europe and the Middle East (which is pretty much the same as EMEA, plus India).
Santander Bank has hired David Consigli as director of AML compliance. Consigli comes to Santander from Kroll, where he had spent the last two years as vice president for compliance, risk, and due diligence services.
Citigroup has hired Margarita Reyes to work on compliance risk training and strategy. Reyes joins Citi from JPMorgan & Chase, where she had been a compliance training manager for the last eight years.
Jamie Ontiveros is leaving his assurance role at Comcast; he’ll stay with the company, but be senior manager of enterprise data science. Ontiveros had been senior manager for business assurance for nearly two years at Comcast, and in other assurance roles since 2016. What, business assurance isn’t cool enough for him?
Sterling Hening has left his job as chief compliance officer for retail banking at Capital One — and a 28-year career at the bank! — to join USAA as assistant vice president of compliance. Hening worked in numerous compliance roles at Capital One going back to the early 2000s, and in other business roles before that. He’s based in Richmond, Va.
Kraft Heinz has promoted Naraiana Lessa from ethics and compliance manager for Latin America to senior legal manager. Lessa is based in Sao Paolo and been with the company since 2018.
And the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Ark., has promoted Shayla Robinson to corporate compliance officer. Robinson had been holding that job on an interim basis since last year and originally joined the compliance team as a senior auditor.
Milestones
Barry Grosse is celebrating one year at Augusta University in Georgia, where he is chief compliance officer.
Vendors & Service Providers
Neepa Patel, who spent the 2010s as a compliance officer at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and fintech startup R3, has joined the board of directors at AuthID.ai, a maker of authentication software.
Vendor news: ACA Group, a provider of GRC software to financial services firms, has agreed to merge with Foreside Financial Corp., another software firm that does pretty much the same thing for the same customer base. ACA’s chief executive, Shvetank Shah, will be CEO of the consolidated business when the deal closes early next year.
Open Req Orders
Beyond Meat is looking for a senior director of ethics and compliance. Job is based in El Segundo, Calif. Must love eating plants.
Republic, a private investment platform that lets people invest in private real estate, crypto, video games, and other projects, is looking for a compliance officer. Job is based in New York or remote.
TIAA, the financial services firm, is looking for an anti-corruption officer. Job can be based in any of several TIAA offices around the country; and the job description clarifies for physical requirements that anti-corruption is “sedentary work.” (I want to be offended but honestly, I like sitting around.)
Compliance Meme of the Week
That’s all for this week’s report.
