Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin by catching up with Danske Bank. The company has promoted chief compliance officer Philippe Vollot to chief administrative officer, although he will still remain responsible for group compliance and anti-financial crime operations. Vollot joined Danske Bank in 2018 on the heels of a giant money-laundering scandal. Danske Bank has also promoted one of Vollot’s lieutenants, Satnam Lehal, to the chief compliance officer role.
Cornell University has hired Aditya Misra to be chief audit executive, starting in January. Misra joins Cornell after 14 years at Johnson & Johnson, where he had been director of global audit and investigations. He succeeds Glen Mueller, who passed away in March.
The University of Minnesota also just named a new chief audit executive: Quinn Gaalswyk, who actually has been an audit manager with the university since 2017. He succeeds his old boss, Gail Klatt, who retired earlier this fall.
Medical device maker Getinge has shuffled around a few compliance officers into new roles. Alexis Wermuth is now head of healthcare compliance; she previously had been head of ethics and compliance for North America, and global head of healthcare compliance. Also, Bruno Ferraz de Camargo had been global lead for antitrust and fair competition matters; now he’s head of legal, compliance, and governance for Southern Europe and Latin America. (Incidentally, Wermuth was just featured on the Great Women in Compliance podcast earlier this week.)
Charge Enterprises, a holding company for startups building out electric vehicle infrastructure, has given chief operating officer Craig Denson the additional title of chief compliance officer. Denson has been with the company since last year, when Charge acquired a startup he had been running for most of the 2010s. We frown on dual roles for compliance officers, but anyway, there you have it.
Shabnam Khalili has joined TracFone Wireless as part of the legal team to handle government program compliance. Khalili comes to TracFone after spending most of 2021 at CDR Maguire, an engineering consulting firm, where she had worked as in-house counsel handling risk management issues.
Jorge Andres Morales has left GSK after nearly seven years there in various compliance roles, most recently as global compliance manager for anti-bribery and corruption. He just joined Viiv Healthcare as compliance manager for North America.
Promoted: Maximilien Roche, at the World Economic Forum, from compliance lead to compliance & risk officer. Roche has been with the WEF in various roles since 2017. Unclear whether he gets to attend Davos as part of the job, although he is based in Geneva.
And another promotion from Geneva! Daniela San San Martín, at Santander, from legal compliance officer for AML to regulatory compliance specialist. San Martín has been with Santander for 18 months.
In Amsterdam, Geerte Hesen has left her job as head of corporate compliance for semiconductor equipment maker ASML, to be general counsel at another technology manufacturer, LUMICKS. We wish her well and look forward to the day she works at a company with lower-case letters in its name.
Francisco Ribeiro Filho has joined ImmunoGen in Boston as vice president and chief compliance officer. Filho had previously been ethics and compliance lead at GSK for its U.S. oncology division until 2020, then took a year off to get a master’s degree in law at Boston University.
In London, Russell Barr has joined Glenmark Pharmaceuticals as compliance lead for Europe. He comes to Glenmark from Skanska, where he had been an ethics and compliance officer in the company’s London offices since the start of this year.
In Baltimore, Robert Schmollinger has joined GBMC Healthcare as director of internal audit. Schmollinger had spent the previous 18 months doing solo audit consulting work; prior to that he was vice president of internal audit at MicroStrategy.
Dragados Canada, the Canadian division of Spanish construction giant Dragados, has hired Mariella Espejo Salazar as a compliance coordinator. Salazar previously worked for a few years at a Spanish law firm.
FirstBank, a community bank based in Nashville, Tenn., with roughly $11.9 billion in assets, has hired Amiee Hamilton as chief risk officer. Hamilton had previously been chief risk officer at Cadence Bank in Houston.
And remember Julie Kane, chief ethics and compliance officer at Pacific Gas & Electric until last year? She has been nominated to join the board of Heliogen, a solar energy startup in California, once Heliogen goes public later this year in a SPAC deal. SPACs do have their corporate governance challenges, but we’re always happy to see more compliance professionals serving on boards!
Milestones
Monica Harris just hit her one-year anniversary at Ares Capital Management, where she is vice president of compliance.
Elizabeth Simon is celebrating one year at FirstKey Homes in Atlanta, as vice president of compliance.
In London, Julie Sefton is celebrating one year at ING, where she is a Know-Your-Customer compliance specialist.
In Singapore, Henry Susianto is celebrating one year at IQVIA, where he is associate director of compliance for Southeast Asia and Australia-New Zealand.
And we’re sad to report that Teresa Shutt, contracts compliance manager at Insights Training Group in Kentucky, recently passed away at age 62.

Over in Hungary, András Bácsfalvi has left his job as chief compliance officer for Magyar Bankholding to join EY as a director. Bácsfalvi had been with Magyar for a year.
