Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin at Principal Financial Group, which has hired Noreen Fierro as its next chief compliance officer. Fierro (a delightful person) comes to Principal after six months as CCO at BetMGM — but many people might know her better from her time at Guardian Life, where she was chief ethics and compliance officer from 2016 to 2021. Fierro succeeds Betsy Happe, who is retiring from Principal at the end of March.

In Brazil, Abbott Labs has hired Victor Martini as regional investigations manager for Latin America. Martini previously worked at Oracle for four years as head of compliance and ethics investigations for Latin America.

Coinme, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Seattle, has hired Brian Reisbeck as chief compliance officer. Coinme’s press release only says Reisbeck previously worked “at a major U.S.-based crypto exchange — but for the record, he was previously chief compliance officer at Binance.us until last fall. Prior to that, Reisbeck had also been senior compliance officer at Robinhood in the late 2010s.

And another in crypto: Blockchain.com has hired Juan Carlos Goyanes as head of central compliance and Latin America compliance. Goyanes previously worked at Goldman Sachs for a few years as head of risk and controls in Goldman’s cards business and its consumer and wealth management units.

Alison Howell is expanding her role over at Ericsson. Howell had been head of allegation management and assurance at the telecom giant since October 2020; now she says she will also oversee Ericsson’s compliance risk assessment and monitoring & testing unit.

Sticking with telecom: Nokia has hired Anshuman Pandey as an ethics and compliance officer working on anti-corruption compliance and third-party due diligence. Pandey is based in India. He comes to Nokia after a year at Axis Bank, where he had been a senior manager in corporate affairs and investigations.

In Concord, N.H., Sheila Sarabia has joined North American Dental Group as compliance officer. Sarabia joins North American Dental from Concord Hospital, where she had been manager of audit and compliance for two years.

Andrés Toledo has left his job at music streaming service Pandora, where he had been global anti-corruption compliance manager. Toledo joined Pandora at the end of 2020, working from Denmark. No word yet on what he may do next. Filed under: off the air.

Agoda, an online travel platform headquartered in Singapore, has promoted Yim Woodman from compliance and ethics manager to senior compliance and ethics manager. Woodman has been with Agoda since 2021, working in Bangkok.

Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles has promoted Miguel Varela from manager to senior manager of managed care compliance. Varela has worked for Cedars in several compliance roles since 2017.

In Hungary, Annamária Nádai has joined Tesco Business Services (subsidiary of Tesco, the supermarket giant that has a store in every street in the United Kingdom) as risk and compliance manager. Nádai comes to Tesco after a year at KPMG as a senior consultant. Prior to that she was a compliance specialist for Medtronic in Hungary.

First, we have a new professional association for compliance officers to announce: the Middle East & Africa Compliance Association (MEACA), based in Dubai. The group says it will run a blog on regional compliance news and host events throughout the year. It is headed by Tomell Ceasar (widely considered the best-dressed compliance professional in the Middle East) and Elvis Angyiembe. We wish them well!
