Compliance Jobs Report: March 25

The Compliance Jobs Report this week has personnel news at Trulioo, Activision Blizzard, Technicolor, and a bundle of other companies from North America to Europe to the Middle East. We also have several work anniversaries to note; job leads in utilities, mobile phones, and spices; and our Meme of the Week!

Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin at Trulioo, the Canadian provider of due diligence and Know Your Customer Services, which just hired Reno Mathews as the company’s first-ever chief compliance officer. Mathews comes to Trulioo from Facebook Meta, where he had been director of product integrations and compliance since the start of 2021. Earlier in his career Mathews worked at Robinhood and Google Payments, and even some square, old-school banks like Citi and CIT

Activision Blizzard has promoted Joy Hayes from senior director of ethics and compliance to vice president of ethics and compliance. Hayes joined the video game maker last summer as the company embarked in an effort to overhaul its troubled corporate culture

Christine Watzke Ulbert has left her job at Baxter International, where she had been senior manager for global ethics and compliance investigations for two years. What’s next? Ulbert has joined Primient, a maker of plant-based foods, where she is senior manager of ethics and compliance. 

Remember Ruth Semonian Vetter, last seen at Boeing, where she had been interim vice president of ethics through 2021? She just turned up at the Defense Logistics Agency in Washington, D.C., as general counsel. 

Speaking of Washington: the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has hired Bernice Lemaire-Harvey as vice president and head of audit. Lemaire-Harvey comes to the MWAA after a year as a solo audit consultant; prior to that she was chief auditor at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. for most of the 2010s.

In Houston, Patrick Hays has joined Dresser Utility Solutions as global compliance director. Hays previously spent six years at Frank’s International/Expro as senior counsel and director of corporate compliance. 

First Farmers and Merchant Bank, a community bank in Tennessee, has hired Ashley Ladd as chief compliance officer. Ladd comes to First Farmers from Citizens Bank, where she had been vice president and counsel in Citizens’ digital banking operations. She succeeds Autumn Osborne, who retired at the end of 2021.

In Dubai, Ahmed al-Hammadi has a new role within Mubadala, the sovereign wealth fund in the United Arab Emirates. Al-Hammadi had been compliance counsel at the Mubadala parent firm for several years; now he has moved to be compliance counsel at its portfolio company Mubadala Petroleum

Carnival UK, a subsidiary of Carnival Corp., has hired Kirby Mandziej as a senior adviser in training compliance. Mandziej joins Carnival from Expression for Growth, a consulting firm, where she had been a client event coordinator. Welcome to the compliance profession, Mandziej!

Technicolor, a modern-day version of the old film company that’s now based in France and provides creative services to the entertainment world, has hired Aline Bourcereau as chief compliance officer. Bourcereau comes to Technicolor from Groupe Keolis (transportation giant), where she had been chief compliance officer for the last 18 months. 

Courtney Sander has a new gig as director of compliance at Ontivity, a supplier of goods and services to the wireless telecom world. Sander had previously been at Flowserve for the last 11 months as global compliance project manager. 

Paul Zavolta has a new role at FNB Corp., the financial services firm headquartered in Pittsburgh. Zavolta had been vice president and audit project lead; now he is vice president of professional practices at the firm. Zavolta has been at FNB since 2019.

Donna Shattuck has joined online trading platform TradeStation as a compliance analyst. Shattuck previously worked at LPL Financial in the 2010s, where she had been senior internal financial compliance examiner. And TradeStation — we see you there, coloring your corporate logo blue and yellow like the Ukrainian flag. Nice touch. 

In Ireland, Barry Ronayne has joined Alter Domus, an alternative investments firm, as senior compliance officer. Ronayne comes to Alter Domus from software firm Red Hat, where he had been global head of third-party risk management. 

And in Germany, Anne-Christine Wegener has joined mobile banking firm N26 as senior manager for fraud prevention strategy. Wegener had been at Fresenius Medical Care as a local compliance officer for Germany for a few months, and prior to that was at Commerzbank.

Milestones

Antonio Fernández is celebrating one year as chief ethics and compliance officer at FirstEnergy Corp. 

Sarah Iles is celebrating one year at Ericsson as compliance officer for North America. 

Prakhar Srivastava is celebrating one year at Marqeta, one of those electronic payment startups in San Francisco, as head of internal audit.

Nicholas Trutanich just hit one year at Fox Corp. where he is chief ethics and compliance officer. 

And the always delightful Adelle Elia just hit five years at professional services firm Louis Berger as chief integrity officer. 

Vendors & Service Providers

Manuela Mackert has left her job as chief compliance officer at Deutsche Telekom after 11 years, to join consulting firm Ankura as a senior managing director in its Europe offices. 

Behavox, which sells software to help businesses meet their cybersecurity compliance obligations, has landed investment firm  Perella Weinberg Partners as a customer.

Open Req Orders

Ericsson is looking for a market area compliance officer. Job is based in Texas. 

McCormick & Co., a provider of spices, flavors, and seasonings, is looking for a director of international trade compliance for the Americas region. Job is based in Baltimore. 

Utility giant Exelon Corp. is recruiting an assistant general counsel for ethics. Job is based in Chicago.
