Prior to that he spent seven years at JPMorgan Chase as chief compliance officer for consumer and community banking, although earlier in his career Anderson spent 20 years at Citi in various roles. He succeeds Mary McNiff, who became chief compliance officer in 2020 just as Citi was negotiating a massive compliance settlement with banking regulators.
