Compliance Jobs Report: June 24
The Compliance Jobs Report this week has a few gossipy items about Rite Aid, a new compliance boss at Tesla (good luck), and other personnel items from Rabobank, Google, Victoria’s Secret, Cooper Standard, and more. All our compliance job leads are for the Atlanta area, and Meme of the Week goes out to pushy compliance vendors!
As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs News
We begin at Rite Aid, which is in the news for two reasons this week. First, LaShon Kell has departed as the company’s chief ethics and compliance officer after only seven months on the job, for reasons undisclosed. Kell joined the company last October from Humana, where she had been a senior legal executive in charge of litigation and employment matters.
Second, a former compliance officer at Rite Aid, Steven Sheinfeld, has settled insider trading charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC charged Sheinfeld in 2020 with selling $1 million in stock options in 2017 ahead of news that Rite Aid and Walgreens would miss a merger deadline. Well, Sheinfeld agreed this week to end that case with a $305,000 civil penalty.
Tesla has hired Mike Munro as associate general counsel for global compliance. Munro comes to the electric car giant from e2log, an online platform for global logistics, where he had been general counsel for three years. Vaya con Dios, Mr. Munro — given all the governance and compliance issues surrounding Tesla and Elon Musk, it’s sure to be, ahem, a robust career experience.
In Europe, we now know where Philippe Vollot is going: he is joining Rabobank in October year as chief financial crime officer. Vollot departed Danske Bank several weeks ago without disclosing his next move. He originally joined Danske Bank in 2018 as chief compliance officer, before moving up to chief administrative officer at the end of last year.
Cooper Standard, a global provider of fluid hauling systems and components, has promoted Alison Nudd to vice president of global audit and compliance. Nudd joined the Michigan company in 2020 and had been assistant controller since then.
In Orange City, Fla., AdventHealth has picked up Cameron Curry-Mays as regional corporate responsibility officer. Curry-Mays previously worked at Tenet Healthcare as a hospital compliance officer for four years.
Kimberley Jenkins has joined Victoria’s Secret as manager for compliance training and policies. Jenkins comes to the clothing retailer from L Brands (the former parent company of Victoria’s Secret), where she had been senior security analyst. Jenkins is one of several compliance hires since Victoria’s Secret became an independent company last year.
Vik Bachettira has joined Google as program manager for engineering compliance and integrity, working from Vancouver. Bachettira joins Google from Deloitte, where he spent three years working in the advisory practice with a focus on diversity and inclusion issues.
Irene Kaushansky has joined Project HOPE, a nonprofit that works in emergency relief programs and public health, as integrity and compliance director. Kaushansky previously worked at the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, most recently as associate director for compliance and integrity.
Caron Treatment Centers, a chain of addiction recovery centers along the U.S. East Coast, has promoted Kelly Watson from regional compliance specialist to compliance and risk supervisor. Watson is based in Pennsylvania and has been with Caron for two years.
DP World (previously known as Dubai Ports World) has hired Arvind Sharma to be head of group compliance. Sharma comes to DP World from Agility, the logistics firm headquartered in Kuwait, where he had been chief compliance officer for three years.
Gerardo Susanto has joined Credit Suisse in its Singapore offices as vice president of reputational risk. Susanto previously worked at FTI Consulting for a few years as a director in its risk advisory practice.
Kay Scott has joined Aledade, a hospital system headquartered in Maryland, as compliance lead. Scott comes to Aledade from Beaumont Health, where she had been a compliance manager since last year.
And we close with Malcolm Hughes, who says he has been laid off from his job as a compliance analyst at Nomad Health and is tapping his network to look for job leads. We are happy to help spread the word.
Milestones
First, an update about Andrea Barr, former chief audit executive at Baltimore County Public Schools, until the school board allowed her contract to lapse and essentially fired her. Well, she is now suing the board, alleging that how she was fired qualifies as unlawful termination.
Allison Hinds-Pearl is celebrating one year as chief compliance officer at Revlon, even though the company just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
José Marcelo Martins Proença is celebrating five years as global head of compliance for Brazilian food giant JBS.
Vendors and Service Providers
Ethisphere has launched a new portal for corporate ethics data, The Sphere (sounds like a Doctor Who episode), for companies that want to benchmark their ethics and compliance programs.
Open Req Orders
This week, it’s compliance job leads all based in Georgia! A few have come over the transom lately.
Georgia Institute of Technology is looking for a director of ethics and compliance engagement. You can learn more about the role by visiting Georgia Tech’s careers page and searching for job ID 243620.
Delta Air Lines is looking for a corporate counsel for ethics and compliance. Delta’s careers page also lists “flight attendant” as a similar job. Dealing with unruly people, enforcing rules, flying all over the place — yeah, I see it.
And payroll services provider ADP is looking for a compliance manager to help with Sarbanes-Oxley, tax, and payroll compliance.
Compliance Meme of the Week
That’s all for this week’s report.
