Several compliance professionals have also left their jobs, we have numerous promotions to note, and all our job leads this week are in sun-drenched San Diego. Compliance Jobs News
We begin in Norway this week, where BW Offshore has hired Yvonne Hilst as senior vice president of compliance. Hilst comes to the energy company from International Flavors and Fragrances, where she had been global compliance counsel for the last year. Prior to IF&F she was group ethics and compliance officer at VEON.
The Global Fund, a nonprofit that manages billions of dollars annually to fight HIV, tuberculosis, and other diseases, has named Susanne Kuehn as head of ethics. Kuehn had been director of anti-fraud, ethics, and compliance at the International Rescue Committee for the last year, and worked on integrity issues for various United Nations offices prior to that. She is based in Berlin.
In Dubai, consumer conglomerate firm Al-Futtaim has hired Tahir Shehzad as group operational and financial auditor. Shehzad comes to the company after four years at National General Insurance Co., where he had been an internal audit executive.
Here in the United States, beer and liquor giant AB InBev has named John Jahangir Sardar global head of compliance. Sardar joins AB InBev from DTE Energy, where he had been chief ethics and compliance officer for 14 months. He succeeds Matt Galvin, who departed AB InBev earlier this year to be a research fellow at Harvard Business School.
Terry Thompson has been named chief audit executive for Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, the jurisdiction that includes the city of Charlotte. Thompson was previously head of audit for the University System of Georgia, and head of audit for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority before that.
University Hospitals, a healthcare system in northern Ohio affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, has named LaVonne Pulliam chief compliance officer. Pulliam comes to UH after six years at Medtronic, where most recently she was legal counsel and senior director of business transformation; but Pulliam also previously worked at UH in the mid-2010s in the legal department.
Laura Otterpohl has joined fintech startup Payoneer as a compliance analyst. Otterpohl joines the payments tech company after a stint as project manager at Younee Online, a higher education business. She also spent most of the 2010s in China working on anti-corruption issues for PwC and her own consulting firm.

Carolyn Amadon has left her job as compliance counsel at Samuel, Son & Co., a processor and distributor of aluminum products. Amadon had been with Samuel since 2019.
Michelle Hurst-Chavaillaz has left Philip Morris International, where she spent the previous 28 years in various roles, most recently as manager of global ethics and compliance training and communications. She is based in Switzerland.
In Amsterdam, Wendy Ung has left Prosus Group, an investor in consumer Internet technologies. Ung had been group ethics and compliance manager for a year.
Aside from departures, we also have several promotions to note…
Investment giant BlackRock has expanded the role of Emily Irving, from director and regional head of third-party risk to global head of third-party risk. Irving has been with BlackRock since 2018.
Discount brokerage Charles Schwab has promoted Nicole Davis in Chicago, from director of business unit risk to director of supervision and controls.
Takeda has promoted Kelly Tope, from ethics and compliance lead on monitoring, transparency, and samples to head of U.S. head of compliance and monitoring operations.
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Kelly Scoggins from manager of corporate compliance to director of ethics and compliance. Scoggins has been with BC/BS Tennessee in various roles since the 1990s.
And Wells Fargo has promoted Daniel Stecchini from senior compliance analyst to lead compliance officer for conduct risk oversight.
Milestones
Lizette Arias is celebrating one year at TransUnion as manager of the global fraud and internal reporting program.
Kathy Kraninger is celebrating one year as head of regulatory affairs for fintech startup Solidus Labs. (Yes, the same Kathy Kraninger who ran the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau during the Trump Administration.)
Jenny McVey just hit one year with French life sciences company bioMérieux as its North America compliance officer.
Samantha Molleda is celebrating one year as director of compliance and privacy at PharmScript Corp.
And in Saudi Arabia, James Walker just hit one year as head of ethics and compliance at NEOM, a government economic development agency trying to build a gigantic next-generation city in that country.
Vendors and Service Providers
Asha Palmer has left her job as chief ethics and compliance officer at GRC vendor OneTrust (and at Convercent before that, until OneTrust acquired Convercent in 2021). Palmer says she is taking a few weeks off and will announce another job in ethics and compliance upon her return.
Open Req Orders
This week our Open Req Orders section is looking at compliance and audit jobs in San Diego!
Mirati Therapeutics, developing cancer drugs, is looking for a chief compliance officer.
Intuit, giant of the financial management software world, is looking for a SOX program compliance manager.
MaxLinear, a semiconductor manufacturer, is looking for an export compliance manager. Technically the job is based in Carlsbad, just up the road from San Diego, but it’s a lovely town right on the ocean.
