Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin in the tech world: Lance Lanciault, previously head of compliance and risk at Peloton Interactive, has taken a job as chief compliance officer at social media platform Snap. Lanciault had worked at Peloton for 18 months, although the company has been running out of steam for a while now.
Dentsu Group, one of the largest marketing and PR agencies in Japan, has two items this week. First, Hideo Hatano has joined as executive director of internal audit. Hatano previously worked at Nissan Motor Corp., where he had been chief internal auditor for Japan and the ASEAN region. Also, Li Ping Tan has joined Dentsu as ethics and compliance director for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia; she had previously been head of compliance for SATS Ltd. in Singapore.
Dawn Young quietly joined Firefly Aerospace, which develops launch vehicles for satellites, earlier this summer as chief ethics and compliance officer. Young comes to the Texas company from Grainger, where she had been manager of the anti-corruption program since 2019.
JetBlue has promoted Renée Anckner to associate general counsel and principal compliance and privacy officer. Anckner has been with the airline since 2017, primarily as development counsel for JetBlue’s infrastructure and property operations, although she also managed ethics and compliance as well. JetBlue just struck a merger deal with Spirit Airlines, so Anckner is likely to be plenty busy.
We have an update on Piyush Sharma, who announced last week that he was stepping down as chief compliance officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Sharma is now going to Alnylam Pharmaceuticals to be chief ethics and compliance officer. Both businesses are based in Boston.
Over at Cook Medical, chief ethics and compliance officer Drew Northern has also picked up responsibility for social impact and sustainability. Northern had been CCO at Cook since February; he added sustainability roles earlier this month.
Blue Yonder, a software company working in supply chain management (with a name like that, I figured it was in aerospace), has hired Christine Brown as deputy general counsel for ethics and compliance. Brown comes to Blue Yonder after five years at SCOR, a reinsurance firm, where she had been assistant corporate secretary and compliance officer for the Americas region.
A’Lynne Bennett has joined IT consulting firm Sphera as compliance manager. Bennett previously worked at L3 Technologies for 12 years in various ethics and compliance roles, most recently as senior manager for corporate ethics.
Nissan do Brasil, otherwise known as Nissan’s Brazil operations, has promoted Marcela Alonso from senior compliance analyst to junior compliance manager.
BLESS, a social services agency in Ohio, has promoted Robin Williams from regional compliance officer to senior compliance manager.
Fintech startup Paxos (it does something with the blockchain) has hired Carolina Ceballos as chief compliance officer. Ceballos joins Paxos— they call themselves “Paxonians” — after three years as deputy compliance officer at Facebook Payments. (Is that Meta Payments now?)
Autodesk has promoted Diana Maltzer from compliance counsel to senior corporate counsel for compliance. Maltzer has been with the software giant since 2020.
Alistair Sinden, long-time global ethics and compliance director at GSK, has now assumed that same role at Haleon, the consumer health products business that GSK spun off earlier this summer. Sinden had been with GSK for 19 years.
In Thailand, supply chain and logistics business DKSH has promoted Tal Freilich from regional compliance officer to director of group compliance. Freilich has been with the company for 15 months.
Japanese pharma giant Daiichi Sankyo has hired Sheena Wingfield as senior compliance manager in its British operations. Wingfield had previously worked at Sandoz, another pharma giant, for four years as a compliance manager.
British insurance giant RSA has given Peter Townsend a new role as international chief compliance officer. Townsend has been with RSA or its parent company, Intact, in several roles for the last 10 years. Most recently he had been head of financial crimes compliance for Intact; prior to that he’d held a similar role at RSA.
ScotiaBank has promoted Ana Boras from senior AML learning adviser to manager of insider threats, which is a way cool title. Boras has been with the bank since 2020.
And at the entry level, Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., has hired Jadin Wagner as an assistant compliance coordinator; she will report to Linda Anderson, the college’s associate director for athletics and internal affairs. This is Wagner’s first job since graduating in May. Welcome to the profession, it’s a great one!
Milestones
Mike Althouse is celebrating one year as chief compliance officer at Green Dot Corp.
Rachel Batykefer is celebrating one year at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, where she is senior director of integrity and compliance operations.
Rebekah Dunlap just hit one year at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, where she is compliance manager.
Vendors and Service Providers
Deborah Rimmler has left her job as chief compliance officer at law firm Dentons, to join risk advisory firm Sigma7 as general counsel. Rimmler had been with Dentons since 2018. (More law firms should have in-house compliance officers!)
ComplyAdvantage has hired Andrew Davies as its global head of regulatory affairs. Davies previously spent 15 years at Fiserv, most recently as head of financial crimes risk management.
Sven Stumbauer has joined Grant Thornton as a managing director and leader of the firm’s AML advisory practice. He previously was at law firm Norton Rose heading its AML consulting operations.
And Asha Palmer has resurfaced! Four weeks after parting ways with Convercent (now OneTrust) as chief ethics and compliance officer, Palmer has turned up at compliance vendor Skillsoft as senior vice president for compliance solutions.
