Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin with two updates related to CEVA Logistics. As you might recall, last week Charles Paré announced that he was stepping down as chief compliance officer there after 18 months on the job. Now we know Paré is moving to the World Economic Forum, where he will be chief integrity officer and head of compliance. One assumes our invitation to the next Davos forum will be forthcoming.
Martina Leposa will succeed Paré as CEVA’s next chief compliance officer. Leposa has been with the logistics giant for one year, and previously had been the company’s global director of regulatory compliance. Prior to CEVA, Leposa was a senior compliance executive at Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
Centene Corp. has finally filled its chief compliance officer role, which had been vacant for several months. The healthcare provider’s new chief ethics and compliance officer is Ashlee Knuckey, who joins Centene after 12 years at law firm Locke Lord. Most recently, Knuckey had been co-chair of the firm’s healthcare litigation practice.
Defense contractor Lockheed Martin has promoted Christopher Geiger to be vice president of internal audit and enterprise risk. Martin has worked at Lockheed in a variety of audit and risk roles for more than 20 years; most recently he’d been internal audit director.
Jim Grimes has joined Boston-based cybersecurity firm Rapid7 as director of internal audit. Grimes comes to Rapid7 SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, where he had been chief audit executive for three years.
Ezinne Ubosi has a new role at Walmart, as senior director of compliance and ethics for the U.S. Southwest business unit. Ubosi has been with Walmart for 12 years in various ethics and compliance roles.
University of Minnesota Medical School has promoted Tahnee Trenberth, from grant contracts professional to research compliance and privacy officer. Trenberth has been with UMM for just about two years.
Mark Watson has joined SVB (that’s Silicon Valley Bank to you full-name purists) as head of governance. Watson comes to SVB after eight years at Ernst & Young, most recently as managing director in the financial services practice.
Monroe Capital, a boutique asset management firm, has hired Kristan Gregory to be chief compliance officer. Gregory previously worked at Arena Investors for two years as chief compliance officer.
Chris Baxter has parted ways with British Columbia Investment Management Corp., where he had been compliance manager and chief AML officer. Baxter had been with BCI for a total of seven years; no word yet on what he might do next.
Bitso, a cryptocurrency startup in Mexico, has promoted Manuel Bermejo Fletes from compliance manager to head of compliance. Fletes has been with Bitso for 18 months.
In Rochester, N.Y., Tami Carter just got hired at Trillium Health as manager of clinical compliance and health information. Carter joins Trillium after 11 years at Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, where she had been compliance and contracts manager.
And one notable item from the regulatory world: Matt Galvin is joining the U.S. Justice Department, and bringing his formidable experience in compliance data analytics to the department’s Fraud Section. Galvin was previously global head of compliance at AB InBev, until he left that role earlier this year to take a research fellowship at Harvard Business School. I interviewed Galvin a few years ago on his analytics work at AB InBev, if data is your thing.
