Compliance Jobs Report: Oct. 14

The Compliance Jobs Report is back, and it’s another big report as usual! We have personnel updates from Activision Blizzard, Intel, Seagen, Baxter International, and many more. A few compliance officers have gone to GRC vendors; we have job leads in pharma, manufacturing, and banking; and Meme of the Week goes out to fraud risk!

As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

We begin with Activision Blizzard, the troubled videogame giant trying to shake off a sexual misconduct scandal from last year. The company has promoted Jennifer Brewer to be senior vice president of ethics and compliance, after 10 years in other compliance, risk, and governance roles there. Brewer will be the top ethics and compliance executive at Activision while it lumbers toward its merger with Microsoft.

Meanwhile, Frances Townsend has stepped down as Activision’s chief compliance officer, after a tumultuous final year where she at first denied the harassment allegations filed by California authorities. Townsend will remain as a senior adviser to the board and to CEO Bobby Kotick.

We have an update on Michele Abraham, who left Cooper Standard a few weeks ago after five years as one of the ethics and compliance bigwigs there. Abraham has turned up at Lineage Logistics, a pre-IPO firm in the temperature-controlled food shipping business, where she is vice president of global compliance and ethics.

State Street Corp. has hired Yvette Hollingsworth Clark as its next chief compliance officer, poaching her from Google, where Hollingsworth had been senior director and global head of compliance. Hollingsworth had only been at Google for one year; prior to that she spent eight years at Wells Fargo in various compliance roles, so returning to financial services isn’t a surprise.

Speaking of banks: investment bank BBVA has promoted Matthew Beaven from Bank Secrecy Act compliance officer to U.S. head of compliance, risk, and control assurance. Beaven has been with BBVA since 2014.

Intel has formally named Carol Tate chief compliance officer, a role Tate had held in an acting capacity since January. Tate has been with Intel in various legal and compliance roles for seven years.

Post Holdings, maker of consumer foods such as Grape Nuts, Raisin Bran and other staples, has promoted Maureen English Carroll from associate general counsel to vice president of safety and chief compliance officer. Carroll has been with Post since 2015.

BlackSky, a “geospatial intelligence” firm (read: it works like Google Earth, but for private clients), has hired Anthony Porco as vice president of compliance. Porco comes into BlackSky’s orbit after two years at HomeServe USA, where most recently he had been director of risk management.

In London, Hannah Harding has parted ways with GSK after 11 years there, most recently as manager of anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance. Harding has joined ViiV Healthcare, a firm working on HIV treatments, as U.K. compliance manager.

Baxter International has expanded the role for Rohit Kumar; he has been promoted from head of ethics and compliance for India and Thailand, to head of ethics and compliance for India and Southeast Asia. Kumar has been with Baxter since 2018.

Another from India: WNS, an outsourcing and offshoring consulting firm, has hired Mukesh Poddar as a senior AML analyst. Poddar previously worked at Airtel Payments Bank as a senior AML analyst.

IBM has promoted Gerardo Sepulveda to be senior counsel and chief compliance officer for IBM Latin America. He previously had been counsel and CCO.

Sharon Muscato has joined Emergent BioSolutions as senior director of global compliance operations. Moscato comes to Emergent from Moderna (get your booster, people!), where she had been director of global compliance operations for 18 months.

Seagen, the biotech research company based in Seattle, has hired Jillian Gillespie as director of compliance for business partners and medical affairs. Gillespie joins Seagen from Walgreens, where she had been director of compliance.

Doctor Care Anywhere, a tele-health startup based in Britain, has hired Claire Crabtree as GRC manager. Crabtree previously worked at NHS Supply Chain as a compliance manager.

Copper.co, a fintech startup headquartered in London, has promoted Scott Fleisher to be head of compliance for the Americas region. Fleisher had been AML compliance officer since he joined the firm in March.

Ben Rank has joined the awesomely named Meteor Asset Management as director of compliance. Rank comes to the investment fund, based in London, after a year as interim compliance director at Davidson Kempner European Partners

Synchrony, a consumer finance company, is promoting Dana Randell to be chief audit executive effective January 2023. Randell has been deputy chief audit executive since March, and has been with the company in various roles for eight years. She succeeds Mark Martinelli, who is retiring.

Todd Anderson just got a new job at Discover Financial Services, as vice president of consumer compliance advisory. Anderson comes to Discover after five years at Alliant Credit Union, where he had been chief compliance officer.

Shamreen Ali Khan is moving into a new role at Amgen, as head of global investigations, monitoring, and trade compliance. Khan had previously been executive director of compliance, and has worked in various compliance roles at Amgen since 2014.

And cybersecurity software firm McAfee has promoted Ashley Lewis from senior compliance manager to director of ethics, compliance, and strategic programs. Lewis has been with the company since 2020.

Jillian Atstupenas is celebrating one year as director of privacy and compliance at Akili Interactive.

Tanja Gromadzki is celebrating one year at Chewy.com, the online pet food business, where she is corporate compliance manager.

Martina Leposa is celebrating one year at CEVA Logistics, where she is chief compliance officer.

Vendors & Service Providers
