Compliance Jobs Report: Oct. 21

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has new hires to report at Novartis, Wells Fargo, Enterflex, Clarks, and elsewhere; plus a slew of promotions at AbbVie, Olympus, UPS, Ericsson and more. We also have numerous items from the world of GRC vendors, and Meme of the Week goes out to people who need more money!

As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin with pharmaceutical giant AbbVie, where former chief ethics and compliance officer Perry Siatis has just been promoted to general counsel. Siatis has actually been deputy general counsel there for the last year; but prior to that he was CCO for two years and that’s the important part, right? He succeeds Laura Schumacher, who is retiring after 10 years as GC

In Houston, Andrew Baird has joined energy services company Enterflex as chief compliance officer and senior counsel. Baird comes to the company after two years at Exterran, another energy services company in Houston, where he had also been chief compliance officer.

Novartis has hired Timothy Roberts as head of ethics, risk, and compliance for the pharma giant’s integrated marketing. Roberts joins Novartis from Amneal Pharmaceuticals, where he had been chief compliance officer for the previous 18 months.

John Panagopoulos has joined Wells Fargo as executive vice president and head of financial crimes risk management. Panagopoulos comes to the bank after a few years at Credit Suisse, where he had been head of financial crimes compliance for the investment banking division.

Myranda Pike has joined the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, W.Va., as chief compliance officer. Pike comes to the healthcare system after nearly four years at consulting firm Baker Tilly, where she had been a senior manager in the healthcare consulting practice.

Datavent, an HR software firm based in San Francisco, has hired Lori Kirsch with the rather unusual title “people team compliance leader.” Kirsch previously worked at Florida Blue for nine years in various roles, most recently as senior manager for enterprise workforce compliance.

And in London, Peter Stone has joined retail chain Clarks as global head of compliance and privacy. Stone comes to Clarks from OneTrust, the GRC vendor, where he had been a senior compliance counsel for OneTrust’s internal compliance program.

We also have several promotions to report this week…

Mobile phone maker Ericsson has promoted Sarah Iles from senior compliance officer for North America to head of enterprise compliance. Iles joined Ericsson last year.

Americold Logistics has promoted Jeff Hecker from director of compliance to senior director for global compliance. Hecker joined Americold two years ago.

Olympus Corporation of the Americas has promoted Rebecca Rehm from senior manager of compliance to director and compliance officer. Rehm has been with Olympus for five years.

Pinnacle Investments has promoted Monica Coles from director of compliance to chief compliance officer. Coles has been with the Syracuse, N.Y., investment firm for nine months.

UPS has promoted Brian Arnold from corporate compliance manager — a job he apparently held for 30 years! — to corporate compliance and risk director. Glad to see that HR finally delivered him a bigger role.

And all the way from Pakistan (the Jobs Report notes all compliance officer personnel news worldwide) Hassan Tahir Sial has been hired by United Bank Ltd. as an AML compliance analyst. Sial comes to United from Bank Alfalah, where he had been an internal auditor for four years.

Lori Knudson is celebrating one year at AAR Corp., where she is chief compliance officer.

Teresa McMeans is celebrating one year at CareMax, where she is chief compliance officer.

Vendor gossip: Ethixbase, a provider of third-party risk management solutions, has acquired Tcompliance, another provider of third-party risk management solutions.
