Compliance Jobs Report: Jan. 13

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has updates from GE Healthcare, Becton Dickinson, Temple University, Otis Elevator, and many others. We also have some compliance professionals joining the vendor world; job leads in manufacturing (two of them) and law firms; and Meme of the Week goes out to playing the lottery.

As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn .

Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin at GE Healthcare, which just hired Mara Senn as executive global compliance leader for investigations, monitoring, and assurance. Senn joins GE Healthcare from Zimmer Biomet, where she had been senior counsel for global compliance investigations since 2020. Senn also says she’s hiring! We have the details in our Open Req Orders section below.

Medtech giant Becton Dickinson has given chief ethics and compliance officer Michelle Quinn a battlefield promotion to acting general counsel. Quinn is succeeding Samrat Khichi, who is leaving BD at the end of this month. Quinn has been with the company since 2019, and has been deputy general counsel and CCO since last February.

Changing of the guard at Temple University. Chief compliance officer Alejandro Diaz is stepping down after five years in that role and leaving the university; we’re not sure yet where he is going next. Susan Smith, who currently serves as senior counsel, will serve as interim chief compliance officer. Smith has been with Temple in various legal roles for 11 years.

Talk about going up in the world: Otis Elevator has hired Elizabeth Getrost as head of internal audit. Getrost comes to Otis after two years at Carrier Corp. as associate director of internal audit.

PosiGen, a renewable energy utility based in Louisiana, has hired Joshua Linden as vice president of compliance. Linden comes to PosiGen from Advanced Drainage Systems, where he had been global manager of compliance and ethics since 2018.

Cathy Herzog is leaving her job as senior manager of global compliance at Integer Holdings Corp., a contract manufacturer of medical devices. Herzog says she is joining Emmes, a clinical research organization — and although she didn’t specify exactly what role she’ll take at Emmes, one hopes she remains in compliance. Herzog had been with Integer in various roles for 17 years.

Stepan Co., a chemicals manufacturer, has hired Isabella Gichiri as global manager of ethics and compliance. Gichiri joins Stepan from GEHA Health, where she spent the last two years as a senior compliance specialist.

Over in India, Mukesh Poddar has joined American Express as a fraud analyst. Poddar joins Amex after a year at Airtel Payments Bank, where he had been a senior KYC analyst.

Also in India, Apoorv Agarwal has joined Ford Motor Co. as senior special investigator. Agarwal previously worked at Genpact, Hero Motor Corp., and Siemens in those companies’ India operations, handling various audit, investigation, and risk management tasks.

La Jolla Pharmaceuticals has hired Jennifer Scalise-Mullett as senior director of compliance. Scalise-Mullett comes to the company from McKesson, where she had been senior director of ethics and compliance.

Lonza, a maker of bioscience research materials, has hired Kurt Perhach as global head of investigations and director of compliance. Perhach previously spent 20 years in the U.S. Army as an employment lawyer in the JAG Corps.

Octopus Investments, an investment firm based in London, has hired Sarah-Rose Perry as head of compliance. Perry joins Octopus (which, let’s be real, sounds like it should be at the heart of some techno-thriller) from Singer Capital Markets, where she had been head of compliance for three years.

In Florida, Daniel Villavisanis has joined HCA Florida Kendall Hospital as director of ethics and compliance. Villavisanis had previously worked for five years at Broward Health, most recently as regional compliance officer.

Frida Berlin has joined Swedish auto parts maker Autoliv as compliance program director. Berlin joins the company after four years at Getinge, the last year as global head of ethics and compliance.

International Financial Group, an investment company in the Isle of Man, has promoted Rebecca Sowerby from risk and compliance officer to chief compliance officer. Sowerby has been with the company for two years.

And Jason Hall has quit his job as chief compliance officer at Inland Empire Health Plan in California, “to take some time off and consider a career change.” Hall did heap a bundle of praise on IEHP and says anyone looking for a CCO job in healthcare should watch for his old job to be posted soon.

Vendors & Service Providers

Alice Beyer has joined SightSpan, a compliance consulting firm to the financial services sector, as a senior risk adviser. Beyer had previously been director of compliance and risk management at EML, a payments firm.

Jeremie Kanter has joined the ComplianceOne Group, a provider of compliance services to the online gambling world, as vice president of internal audit. Kanter had previously been group compliance director for William Hill, an operator of casinos and gambling parlors.

Milestones

Ashley Coselli is celebrating one year at Apache Corp., an energy services business in Houston, as director of corporate compliance.

Wendy Harkness is celebrating one year as chief compliance officer at Harri, an HR software firm that caters to restaurant and hotel businesses. (Is the company named Harri because people in the hotel and restaurant business are always harried? It fits.)

Helene Jepson is celebrating one year at Meta Financial Technologies, the digital wallet subsidiary of Facebook Meta, as chief compliance officer.
