Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin in France, where transportation and logistics giant Geodis has hired Camille Porgès as executive vice president for governance, risk, and compliance. Porgès comes to Geodis from Atos, a French IT services firm, where she had been head of ethics and compliance since 2019.
Big news at Becton Dickinson: the company has promoted Michelle Quinn from deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer to general counsel. Quinn first joined the medical device giant in 2019 as chief compliance officer. Looks like Claudia Curtis, a long-time Becton Dickinson lawyer, has succeeded Quinn as chief ethics and compliance officer. Curtis had previously been BD’s chief counsel for employment and privacy.
Victoria’s Secret has made two new hires for its compliance team. Christopher Singleton has climbed aboard as a senior investigator for ethics and compliance; he joins the company after a few years as chief investigator for the Madison County, Ill., district attorney’s office. Michelle Lach has also joined the lingerie giant; we’re not sure of her exact role, but Lach previously spent 21 years with the FBI so we’re assuming it’s something in investigations.
Kristine Robidoux, one of the nicest compliance professionals in Alberta (a tough title to win, because everyone is so nice in Canada), has joined the Calgary Police Service as legal counsel. Robidoux had previously been a compliance specialist at Enmax, a utility company in the province.
Deann Baker has joined Sutter Health as compliance officer, working in California. Baker joins Sutter after 18 months as senior compliance and privacy manager at Southcentral Foundation in Anchorage, Alaska.
Ramón Sánchez has a new role within the Santander banking empire. After nearly 20 years in various compliance roles at Santander Brasil (the last seven of them as chief compliance officer), Sánchez has relocated to Spain to be chief compliance officer for the bank’s European operations.
In Stockholm, Kristin Berglund has joined Traton Financial Services as chief compliance officer and head of GRC. Berglund was previously director of compliance at Scania Financial Services.
Cisco Systems has hired Erik Fagley to work as a third-party risk manager. Fagley comes to Cisco from electric vehicle maker Rivian, where he had been a senior associate for due diligence.
A bunch of other promotions to note this week…
Dexcom, San Diego-based maker of medical equipment, has promoted Jayne Selby from EMEA compliance lead to compliance director. Selby has been with Dexcom since 2020.
Varo Bank, a digital-only bank based in San Francisco, has promoted Lisa Violet from chief auditor to senior vice president for strategic partnerships.
Wolters Kluwer has promoted Makarand Pendharkar from senior manager for auditing and compliance to associate director. Pendharkar has been with Wolters Kluwer in various internal compliance and auditing roles (not the sales side) for 10 years.
Bassel Mazen has been promoted at Standard Chartered Bank’s operations in Egypt, from project manager for financial crimes compliance to head of financial crimes compliance. Mazen has been with Standard Chartered since last year.
Enstar Group, a Bermuda-based insurance firm, has promoted Fabio Costa from third-party cyber risk manager to cybersecurity risk and compliance manager. Costa, based in Miami, has been with Enstar since 2022.
We also have a few compliance officer departures to note:
- Enrique Grande Jarque is leaving Fresenius Medical Care after not quite three years there, most recently as head of compliance for Western Europe and Canada; no word yet on what he might do next.
- Luis Sanchez has parted ways with Millicom after 11 years there, most recently as ethics and compliance manager for Latin America.
- Jennifer Asencio has stepped down as director of compliance at Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management. She is now running a solo compliance consulting practice called Garfunkel Health Advisors; one hopes the name is in honor of Simon & Garfunkel.
And congratulations to Simon McDougall, chief compliance officer at Zoom Communications, who just joined the board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Milestones
Paul Colin is celebrating one year at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, where he is executive director of cyber and IT audit.
Marco Terranova just hit one year at American Express, where he is a compliance analyst in the financial intelligence unit.
Tim Slone is celebrating one year at vaccine maker Novavax as vice president of global compliance.
What a coincidence! Just down the road from Novavax, Zoe Philippides is celebrating one year at Moderna as chief ethics, compliance, and privacy officer.
David Griffith is celebrating five years at Citi, where he is senior vice president for regulatory engagement.
Christine Meyers is celebrating five years at Aspen Aerogels as compliance program manager.
Vendors & Service Providers
Clausematch, a regulatory compliance tech startup, has struck a deal with Várri Consultancy, a boutique consulting firm in the UAE, to resell Clausematch’s services in the Middle East market.
Open Req Orders
The Inter-American Development Bank is looking for a chief for its Office of Institutional Integrity. Job is based in Washington, D.C. No hints on the salary, but 24 vacation days a year! (The bank is also looking for a head of integrity investigations, too.)
Bridgestone is looking for a director of enterprise risk and compliance. Job is based in suburban Cleveland. Looks like the company originally advertised the job in December, and then re-posted it this week.
Herbalife, the multi-level marketing outfit for nutrition supplements, is recruiting a director of SOX and financial compliance. Job is based in Torrance, Calif. Salary range is $179,000 to $194,000.
