Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin at Austal USA, the American subsidiary of Australian shipbuilding giant Austal. It just hired Adam Overstreet to be vice president of legal affairs and chief compliance officer. Overstreet comes to the company from rival shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls, where he’d been senior counsel since 2018. Earlier in his career Overstreet also spent 10 years at the Justice Department as a federal prosecutor — and given that federal authorities just indicted three former Austal USA executives for accounting fraud, that might be the more relevant experience here. 

Mining giant Freeport McMoRan has promoted deputy chief compliance officer Michael Pass to be chief compliance officer. Pass has been with Freeport in various compliance roles since 2011. 

Looks like the head of internal audit at Hershey Co. is retiring. Or at least, Sanjay Singh, who had been head of audit at the chocolatier since 2018 has changed his job status to “eternal hiatus and permanent sabbatical.” Interpret that as you will. 

Kelsey Mullady has joined Arthrex, maker of orthopedic devices, as global policy and process improvement lead. Mullady comes to Arthrex from Epsilon Life Sciences, where she had been a senior associate for the last two years. 

Facebook Meta has promoted Nolubabalo Gwababa, from regional ethics and compliance officer to head of ethics and compliance for the EMEA region. Gwababa has been with the company since 2020, working from Dubai.

PowerSchool, a provider of education software for elementary and high schools, has hired Julia Brown as compliance manager. Brown comes to PowerSchool after 13 years at Alberta Investment Management Co. in Canada, where she held various compliance roles over the years. 

Maria Casado has shifted into a new role at Takeda’s Spain operations, moving from head of ethics and compliance for the Iberia region to head of oncology business operations for the same region.

Also in Spain, Elena Moreno has a new role within Swiss Re’s operations there. Moreno had been compliance manager for IptiQ, a digital insurance subsidiary of Swiss Re; now she is compliance leader for all of Swiss Re’s operations in Spain. 

Lightsource BP, a solar-power subsidiary of energy giant BP, has hired Varun Chandrasekaran as a compliance associate. Chandrasekaran previously worked at MyCarrier, an online shipping service, as a project manager, and prior to that was a compliance program manager at Refinitiv. 

Lizette Arias has joined Conagra Foods as director of ethics and compliance. Arias comes to the food giant after a stint at TransUnion helping the company revamp its internal reporting and investigations process; and prior to that worked in regulatory compliance at GE Aviation. 

T-Mobile has promoted Maria Arbona, from principal counsel for anti-corruption and third-party compliance to managing corporate counsel. 

Cue Health, a biotech firm in North Carolina dabbling in personalized healthcare, has hired Madelyn Archibald as manager of legal compliance and ethics. Archibald joins the company after two years at Bioventus, where she was a compliance specialist. 

Jamil Wilcox has been named ethics and compliance officer at HCA Florida JFK Hospital. Wilcox had already been working for HCA Florida since 2020, most recently as director of patient safety at Palms West Hospital. 

Pensionmark Financial, a registered investment adviser based in North Carolina, has hired Jon Curley as global chief compliance officer. Curley previously worked at ButcherJoseph, a financial consulting firm in St. Louis, as a senior adviser. 

SS&C Technologies, a provider of software to the financial services industry, has hired Joanne Kane as chief compliance officer. Kane previously worked for 10 years at the Investment Company Institute, a lobbying group for financial firms, most recently as chief industry operations officer. 

Mitsubishi Chemical America has hired Katrina Gladney to work on compliance and ethics monitoring. Gladney comes to the company after 18 months at GI Alliance, a nationwide gastroenterology practice, where she had been a compliance and privacy analyst. She’s based in Dallas.

And in Mexico, Andrea Gonzalez has joined Credit Saison Mexico as compliance officer. She comes to the financial firm after a year at Tul, where she had been global compliance officer. 

Milestones

Zarin Imam is celebrating one year as compliance officer at Vitol. 

Kamilya Ishmukhametova just hit one year at Abbott, as an ethics and compliance manager in the United Kingdom.

Bryan Judice is celebrating one year at Panasonic North America, where he is global head of compliance data analytics and monitoring.

Debbie Hammalian is celebrating 10 years as chief compliance officer at Voya Investment Management. 

Allison Reed is celebrating 10 years at Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, where she is chief ethics and compliance officer. 

And Sufian Alkhatib just hit 20 years at Aramex, a Middle East logistics firm, where these days he is senior corporate risk and compliance manager. 

Vendors & Service Providers

Treliant, a consulting firm to the financial services world, has hired Karin Lockovitch as senior managing director for its regulatory compliance practice. Lockovitch had worked as a contract CCO for fintech and financial services companies for the last few years; some of you might remember her from her days as CCO of Bank of the West and Zions Bancorp back in the 2010s.

Open Req Orders

Viking River Cruises, the tour boat company famed for advertising on PBS shows, is looking for a senior manager of ethics and compliance. Job is based in Los Angeles; salary range listed as $150,000 to $170,000.

Elanco is looking for a director of compliance and integrity for the Americas region. Job is based in Greenfield, Ind.

Bottled water seller Primo Water Corp. is recruiting a vice president of internal audit. Job is based in Tampa, Fla.
