Compliance Jobs Report: June 2

The Compliance Jobs Report this week has news of yet another mess at Twitter, plus new hires or promotions at Citigroup, Santander, TD Synnex, and many others. Job leads this week in boxes, human resources, and healthcare; and Meme of the Week goes out to couples who just don’t get each other.

As always, thank you to all the compliance people sending me tips and links to keep this report going. We need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin with the trainwreck otherwise known as Twitter, which just lost its second head of trust and safety in six months. Ella Irwin resigned from that role on Thursday after chief twit Elon Musk, who deserves that title more than he knows, publicly rebuked Irwin’s team for ruling that an anti-woman screed from a right-wing writer violated Twitter’s rules against hate speech. Irwin took over as head of trust and safety last November from Yoel Roth, who quit when Musk first took over the social media giant and began running it into the ditch. No word yet on who might now succeed Irwin, if anyone.

Back in the world of sane business organizations, Citigroup has promoted Cecilia Jefferson to senior vice president of regulatory risk. Jefferson has been with Citi for two years, and previously was compliance officer for brands and retail services.

Donnetta Horseman has been named chief ethics and compliance officer for City of Hope, which actually is a large healthcare organization working on cancer treatment and research. Horseman comes to City of Hope after eight years at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla.

Compliance jobsKrisiti Lucas has a new role within the Santander banking empire. Lucas had previously been a senior adviser in the ethics program for Santander’s retail banking operations; now she is vice president of the control room for Santander’s corporate and investment banking division. Lucas has been with the bank for five years.

Pharmaceutical giant AbbVie has hired Raissa Rouco Cervantes as a compliance manager in Mexico, working in the company’s Allergan division. Cervantes comes to AbbVie from Novartis, where she spent two years as an ethics, risk, and compliance manager.

Tanja Gromadzki has joined IT services firm TD Synnex as senior director of ethics and compliance for the Americas. Gromadzki joins TD Synnex from Chewy.com, the online pet food people, where she had been compliance manager. This might explain why last week’s Jobs Report listed an opening for a compliance manager role at Chewy.com, which seems to be still open.

In Houston, Just Energy has hired Jude Betancourt as a regulatory compliance and regulatory specialist. Betancourt previously worked at Branch Energy in customer service and operations.

This is the sort of promotion we like to see! Crossroads, a substance abuse treatment provider in Phoenix, has promoted chief compliance officer Chris Riley to executive director. Riley has been with business for 16 years, the last four of them as compliance officer. Be sure to read the nice hometown newspaper write-up of his promotion

Alliant Insurance Services has promoted Dale Setlin from manager of risk audit to vice president and corporate risk auditor. Setlin has been with the South Carolina-based business since 2003.

In India, Gaurav Kedia has left his job as global controller for IT outsourcing giant Wipro, to join Azentio Software as chief financial officer. Kedia had been with Wipro in various finance and audit roles for nearly 20 years.

Also in India, Mukesh Kumar has joined Quinte Financial Technologies (we assume that’s a fintech firm, since “financial” and “technologies” are literally in its name) as executive in charge of AML processes. Kumar comes to Quinte after a stint at American Express as an AML analyst, and held similar roles at AirTel Payments Bank before that.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has named Mihaela Nistor chief risk officer. Nistor joins the New York Fed from Bloomberg, where she had been head of enterprise risk management since 2014. She succeeds Joshua Rosenberg, who after a long career at the bank is easing into a role as “adviser.”

And Gladys Xiques, chief compliance officer at asset management firm TCW Group, has been named to the board of directors at Brown University. Xiques graduated from Brown in 1994 and has been running compliance at TCW since 2020. More compliance officers on boards!

Packaging Corporation of America is looking for an audit manager. Job is based in suburban Chicago.

ISolved, a human capital management firm, is looking for a deputy compliance officer. Job can be remote, although if you work near one of iSolved’s physical offices the company will expect a hybrid situation.
