Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin at Fortrea, a clinical research organization based in Princeton, N.J., which just hired Blair Shaw as vice president of corporate compliance. Shaw joins Fortrea after three years at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, where he had been senior director of third-party compliance.
In Silicon Valley, Severin Wirz just turned up at Applied Materials as director of ethics and compliance. Wirz previously worked at retirement planning powerhouse TIAA, where he had been senior director of anti-corruption compliance since 2017.
Peter Spake is leaving Inmarsat, the satellite communications company headquartered in London. Spake had been with Inmarsat since 2019, most recently as senior corporate compliance manager. No word yet on what he might do next.
Qatar Energy has hired Ashish Vohra as head of ethics and investigations. Vohra comes to the energy business from Nayara Energy in India, where he had been chief compliance and security officer for the last two years.
Luz Hernandez Alba has joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in Brazil, as compliance supervisor for Brazil and Latin America. Alba joins Thermo after 18 months at Medtronic’s Brazil operations, where she had been a compliance specialist.
Molina Healthcare has hired Andrea Wilcox as an auditor, working from Iowa. Wilcox previously worked at UnityPoint Health in Iowa as a senior compliance analyst.
Lee Ann Atkinson has a new role at AdventHealth, Seventh Day Adventist healthcare system based in Florida. Atkinson had been director of corporate responsibility for the business since 2019; now she is a regional corporate responsibility officer covering the central Florida region for Advent.
LivCor, a real estate management firm based in Chicago, has hired Jessica Pense to run compliance and legal operations. Pense comes to LivCor after three years at Bloom Institute of Technology, where she had also been manager of compliance operations.
Amazon.com has promoted Andre Markiewicz in the e-commerce giant’s Poland software development operations, from compliance team lead to compliance manager.
Emma Deneweth has joined Europabank in Belgium as a compliance analyst. She previously was a KYC compliance analyst down the road at Saxo Bank Belgium.
And Addax Petroleum, an energy business in the African country of Cameroon, has hired Bertrand Tiky as head of legal and compliance. Tiky comes to Addax after eight years at Eneo Cameroon, an electricity utility there, where most recently he had been ethics and compliance officer.
Milestones
Vik Bachettira is celebrating one year at Google, where he is a program manager for integrity in Google’s healthcare operations.
Jennifer Imber is celebrating one year at M&T Bank as vice president and compliance manager for fair lending.
Mike Munro just reached one year at Tesla, where he is associate general counsel for global compliance. Impressive that anyone can work with Elon Musk that long.
Matthew Rose is celebrating one year at LifeStance Health, where he is vice president of compliance and privacy.
Arvind Sharma has reached one year at Dubai Ports World, where he is head of group compliance.
Lauren Werle just hit five years at Office Depot (formally known as ODP Corp.), where she is vice president of audit and loss prevention.
Open Req Orders
Here’s one for all you compliance professionals who secretly believe the Justice Department doesn’t know compliance: the Fraud Section of the department is looking to hire a trial attorney working in corporate enforcement. Salary is $155,700 to $183,500, per the government employee salary schedule. Job is based in Washington, D.C.
Consulting firm McKinsey is trying to fill numerous ethics roles, to help the firm clean up its operations and reputation after various ethics scandals. The company is looking for a director of ethics, salary range $235,000 – $314,000; a specialist for allegations management, salary range $113,800 – $152,300; and a compliance monitoring specialist, salary range also $113,800 – $152,300. All these roles ultimately report to chief compliance officer Daniel Trujillo, a solid compliance professional who previously was a top compliance exec at Walmart.
Applied Materials is looking for a senior counsel in ethics and compliance. Job is based in Santa Clara, Calif., and you’d be working with Severin Wirz mentioned earlier in this week’s column.
