Compliance Jobs Report: Aug. 4

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has news from Binance, Bausch & Lomb, BeiGene, Bank of America, and a few companies whose names don’t start with the letter “B.” Also job leads in coolers, commodities, and dating; and Meme of the Week goes out to auditors looking for compliance violations.

Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.

We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs News

This week we begin with Binance, the troubled cryptocurrency exchange facing civil charges from the Commodities Futures Trading Commission and under investigation by pretty much every other regulator in the world. The company announced this week that Kristen Hecht is its new deputy chief compliance officer and global money laundering reporting officer. This is weird because Hecht has been with Binance since the start of 2023 and previously had been global head of corporate compliance, which I would assume is a role more senior than deputy CCO. Then again, a lot about Binance confuses me.

Bausch & Lomb, the contact lens and eyecare giant, has hired Jonathon Kellerman as chief compliance officer. Kellerman comes to Bausch after 18 months at Boston Consulting Group; prior to his tour of duty on the dark side Kellerman held senior compliance officer roles at AbbVie and Allergan. He will report into chief legal officer Bob Bailey.

Compliance JobsLou Chadjilazarou has joined British gambling and sports betting concern Entain as head of risk for Entain’s Australia and New Zealand operations. Chadjilazarou comes to Entain from financial services giant ANZ, where he had been an assurance management expert since 2021.

Shionogi, a pharmaceutical manufacturing business based (like so many other pharma concerns) in New Jersey, has hired Omar Richardson as senior director of compliance. Richardson comes to the company from the Grünenthal Group, another pharma manufacturing player, where he had been compliance officer.

Israeli fintech firm Nyax has promoted Gal Omer from chief compliance officer to chief legal officer. Omer has been with the firm for two years.

Martin Larsen has joined BeiGene, a biotech startup developing cancer treatments, as head of healthcare compliance for Europe. Larsen previously worked at Novartis for seven years in various roles, most recently as head of ethics, risk, and compliance in the Nordics region.

Fortel Group, a British staffing agency that supports the construction sector, has hired Tim Hunt as head of compliance. Hunt had previously been working as a compliance and payroll consultant in the Midlands region of Britain.

Meredith Garland-Hannafin has left her job at Exeter Finance in Texas, where she had been chief compliance officer for the last five years. She’s now looking for new opportunities if anyone has suggestions.

Tanvi Nagpal has joined Microsoft in its India operations as lead compliance program manager. Nagpal comes to Microsoft after seven months at Technip Energies, where she had been compliance counsel for India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Bank of America has named William Fox global head of financial crimes risk, working from the bank’s headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. Fox has been with BofA in various roles for more than 16 years, and most recently was a senior adviser on financial crimes compliance.

And remember Ram Aiyer, last seen at Google earlier this spring where he was ethics and business integrity lead for the Asia-Pacific region? He just turned up in Houston working for Chevron as a senior counsel.

Joe Beemsterboer is celebrating one year at Walmart as vice president for government enforcement and investigations.

Piyush Sharma is celebrating one year as chief ethics and compliance officer at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals.

Lauralee Gooch is celebrating five years as deputy general counsel for compliance and governance at  Blackline

Jerry Hannafin just hit five years as senior counsel for privacy, ethics, and compliance at Panasonic Corp. of North America
