Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin at Smithfield Foods, which just hired Allyson Bouldon as chief ethics and compliance officer. Bouldon joins Smithfield after two years at software vendor Wolters Kluwer, where she was managing counsel; but earlier in her career Bouldon had stints at Chiquita Brands and Mead Johnson Nutrition Co., so she’s no stranger to the food industry.
Marqeta, maker of software and other IT systems for payment cards, has hired Alan Carlisle as chief compliance officer. (Apparently Carlisle joined the company in October and he’s been operating in stealth mode until now.) Carlisle had been working as a compliance consultant for various groups for the last year or so, and previously had been chief compliance officer at SoFi until last year.
Luis Kostler has joined HF Sinclair as chief compliance officer. Kostler comes to the oil and gas company (relatively new, resulting from the merger of Sinclair Oil and HollyFrontier Corp. last year) from Sunova Energy, where he had been associate general counsel for most of 2023. Prior to that he had been at Baker Hughes.
We have several personnel items from investment bank Goldman Sachs:
- First, the bank has hired Zachary Bierman as vice president of financial crimes compliance. Bierman comes to the Wall Street giant after seven years at Ernst & Young, where most recently he was a manager in the regulatory compliance consulting practice.
- Brianna Cannon has been promoted from associate in consumer compliance monitoring to vice president of consumer compliance monitoring.
- Christian Cuartas has been promoted from associate in consumer financial crimes compliance to vice president of consumer financial crimes compliance.
Gersh Autism, an education organization in upstate New York that offers support and opportunities to children with autism, has hired Sheri Simasek as director of data and compliance. Simasek comes to Gersh after three years at Dish Network, most recently as a business analyst.
Anthony McCafferty has been hired by Alliant Insurance Services as manager for vendor compliance and governance. McCafferty previously worked at Highmark Health for three years as GRC manager.
Pakriti Yadav has joined Wells Fargo as assistant vice president for compliance in the bank’s India offices. Yadav previously worked at Invesco for two years in various roles, most recently as a compliance analyst.
Jessica Waltman has joined Angle Health, an insurance company that bills itself as “a frictionless health plan experience,” as senior compliance manager. Waltman previously worked at MZQ Consulting, which caters to health insurance firms, where she had been vice president of compliance.
Discover Financial Services has promoted Amber Leaver, from principal compliance tester to senior manager of compliance programs. Leaver has stayed with Discover in numerous compliance roles since 2008.
L3 Harris Technologies has hired Ivette Quirós-Miranda as trade compliance lead. Quirós-Miranda comes to the defense contractor from Vigilant Global Trade Services, where she led a team of trade compliance analysts.
Impinj, a cutely named tech company that helps businesses crunch data from internet-enabled devices, has hired Kayla Pottie-Gerrior as senior manager of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and compliance. Pottie-Gerrior joins the Seattle-based Impinj from Harbor Custom Development, where she had been senior manager of SEC reporting.
Jessica Caballeros has been hired by Fontainebleau Casino as AML compliance officer. Caballeros had previously been a senior fraud specialist at Credit One Bank in Las Vegas.
And William Kruse has rejoined Gallup (yes, the polling people) as general counsel. Kruse comes to Gallup after not quite five years at the CFA Institute with stints as regulatory counsel and deputy general counsel; but prior to that Kruse had been Gallup’s regulatory compliance officer for most of the 2010s.
Milestones
Kendall Wangsgard is celebrating one year at Philip Morris International as senior counsel for global anti-corruption and AML issues.
Marion Godefroid is celebrating five years at Airbus, where she is senior ethics and compliance manager.
Vendors and Service Providers
Consolidation in the vendor world: Ncontracts, a GRC software vendor, has acquired Quantivate, another GRC software vendor. Purchase price was undisclosed, which is a bummer.
Boutique compliance law firm Crawford and Acharya has hired Sarah Walsh as a member of the firm. Walsh comes to C&A from law firm Robins Kaplan.
Darie Achstein-Conway has joined Global Training Center as an instructor leading courses on trade compliance. Achstein-Conway previously worked at Rocket Lab USA as global trade and compliance manager.
Open Req Orders
Hy Cite Enterprises is looking for a corporate compliance manager. Job can be based in a few different states where Hy Cite has offices. Sources tell me the salary range is $95,000 to $125,000 plus bonus, and bilingual in Spanish a must since you’ll be working with direct reports in Mexico and Colombia.
Cheniere Energy is looking for a director of compliance and ethics. Job is based in Houston, and salary range is undisclosed because Texas just has to be difficult.
San Diego County in California is looking for a chief compliance officer. Salary range is $110,000 to $120,000, and at that level let’s hope they give you some sweet pension and time off benefits. If you need to ask where the job is based, don’t bother applying.
Compliance Meme of the Week
That’s all for this week’s report.
