Compliance Jobs News
We begin at Walgreens this week, where chief ethics and compliance officer Matt D’Ambrosio just received a battlefield promotion to interim chief legal officer. He is filling in for CLO Danielle Gray, who is leaving the company “to pursue an external opportunity.” Gray is one of several senior executives departing Walgreens since a new CEO arrived this fall. We’re confident D’Ambrosio can rise to the task.

Milestones
Edmundo Calderon, chief internal auditor for the city of El Paso, Texas, has filed a lawsuit against the city alleging harassment and intimidation after he audited city employees’ use of gasoline credit cards. Just the latest example of retaliation against audit and compliance professionals; Radical Compliance keeps a running tab.
Lagan Srivastava, chief compliance officer at Galaxy Asset Management, has been appointed to FINRA’s fintech advisory committee. If you’re a compliance officer in the broker-dealer sector with thoughts about fintech, talk to her!

Vendors and Service Providers
Exiger, the risk management software and advisory firm that traces its roots back to the compliance monitor for HSBC years ago, has been acquired by the Carlyle Group and Insight Partners. Sources say the deal values Exiger at $1.2 billion. This means little to compliance officers directly, but it is a sign that deep-pocketed investment firms see value and growth in GRC services.
