Compliance Jobs Report: Jan. 12
The Compliance Jobs Report has updates this week from Haleon, Capital One, Dentsply Sirona, a few fintech firms, a few airlines, and more. We also have job leads in publishing, entertainment, and mobile phones; and our Meme of the Week goes out to artificial intelligence.
Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.
We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs Report
This week we begin at Haleon Corp., maker of Sensodyne toothpaste, Advil, and lots of other stuff you keep in the medicine cabinet; the company just hired Elizabeth Wilks-Wood as chief compliance officer. Wilks-Wood joins Haleon after four years at the Carlsberg Group, where she had been vice president of compliance. So, going from a company that gives you hangovers to one that helps cure your hangovers.
Meritus Health, a hospital system based in Maryland, has hired Tara Overton as director of integrity. Overton previously worked at Somatus, a kidney care company, as compliance officer.
Danaher Corp. has moved Jeff Samuels into a new role as chief compliance officer for Danaher Diagnostics; he previously had been chief compliance officer of Cepheid, a Danaher subsidiary.
Baraka, a self-described “wealth app” which I guess means it’s a fintech startup, has promoted Kayne Osbourne from head of compliance and AML officer to director of compliance.
Staying in fintech, IFX Payments (a “global fintech innovator”) has hired Sara Cass as chief compliance officer. Cass previously worked at Regis-TR, a corporate services firm, as chief compliance officer for U.K. operations.
Greg Rasner has left Truist, where he had been senior vice president for cybersecurity third-party risk for four years. Rasner is now hanging his own shingle as a cybersecurity consultant, and if his bag is third-party cybersecurity risk I suspect he’ll be plenty busy soon enough.
Dental equipment maker Dentsply Sirona has hired Ramses Herrera as a compliance manager in its Mexico operations. Herrera joins Dentsply after not quite five years at PPG, where most recently he had been a junior compliance manager.
Also in Mexico, Alejandro Alcalde has joined Lear Corp. as customs compliance director. Alcalde previously worked at Flex Corp. in various roles for nearly 10 years, most recently as director of trade compliance for the Americas.
L.A. Healthcare Plan has hired Todd Gower as chief compliance officer. Gower comes to LA Healthcare after several years on the consulting side; he had been vice president in the healthcare practice at RPG, working on risk management projects for clients.
Carlos Manzanares has joined Galderma, maker of skin care treatments, as distributor markets head for Latin America. Manzanares had previously been ethics and business integrity manager for Sanofi’s vaccine operations in Latin America; we assume he’s still in compliance at Galderma somehow too even though the new title is a bit unclear.
Jillian Gillespie slotted into Pfizer as director of compliance for business partner R&D. Pfizer just completed the acquisition of her previous employer, Seagen, where Gillespie held the same role.
In Azerbaijan, Vugar Novruzov just landed at Azerbaijan Airlines as head of compliance. Novruzov comes to the company after nine years at Caspian Maritime Services, where he had been internal auditor and compliance director.
And another in airlines! Paul Whitt has joined Hawaiian Airlines as regulatory compliance auditor and investigator. Whitt comes to Hawaiian from Mesa Airlines, where he had the same role.
Capital One has promoted Anne Fowler from principal auditor for financial crimes compliance to manager of financial crimes compliance audit. Fowler has been with Capital One for three years.
Otsuka Pharmaceuticals has promoted Melanie Leney to senior director and global compliance lead for hotline calls and investigations. Leney had previously been senior director and corporate counsel. So maybe that’s a lateral move at the senior director level, but we all know moving from legal into compliance is a step up.
And one more promotion: Heidi McCann, from compliance analyst at Seaboard Energy to senior compliance analyst at Seaboard Foods, a sister company within the Seaboard empire.
Milestones
Jennifer Scalise-Mullett is celebrating one year at Innoviva Specialty Therapeutics, where she is senior director of compliance.
Mara Senn is celebrating one year at GE Healthcare, where she is executive global compliance lead.
Elizabeth Getrost just hit one year at Otis Elevator as head of internal audit.
Joshua Linden just hit one year as vice president of compliance at PosiGen, a renewable energy utility based in Louisiana.
Open Req Orders
Education publisher Pearson is looking for a manager of sanctions compliance. Job is remote; and salary range is $110,000 to $135,000.
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a director of sustainability, ESG strategy, reporting, and engagement. The job reports into Warner’s vice president for sustainability. Salary range is a ridiculously wide $126,350 to $234,650, and location can be either New York or Burbank, Calif.
T Mobile is seeking a senior corporate counsel for compliance and ethics investigations. Job is based in Herndon, Va.; no salary range disclosed because some states are simply behind the times in their labor laws.
Compliance Meme of the Week
