Compliance Jobs News
This week we begin with Ericsson, which just moved Rebecca Rohr into its chief compliance officer role. Rohr had already been the company’s global head of investigations since 2022, and her promotion now brings investigations and compliance under one umbrella. (She will, however, continue to report into chief legal officer Scott Dresser.) Rohr succeeds Jan Sprafke, who first joined Ericsson in 2020 as head of compliance for Europe and Latin America, and was named chief compliance officer last October. He has now left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Next up is New York Community Bancorp, the liquidity-challenged bank that had Wall Street hyperventilating earlier this week before securing a $1 billion lifeline from former Trump Administration treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin. Anyway, NYCB just hired Colleen McCullum as chief audit executive and George Buchanan as chief risk officer. MCullum was previously chief audit executive at United Community Bank; Buchanan previously was a senior risk management executive at Regions, the bank based in Alabama. Here’s hoping they keep the ship afloat.
In Boston, Northeastern University has hired Stacey Hamilton as assistant vice president for compliance. Hamilton comes to NU (go Huskies!) after two years at Cloud Software Group, where she had been senior director of the compliance program.
Cisco Systems has promoted Kristin White, from senior director of finance shared services to vice president of governance, risk, and controls White has been with the telecom equipment giant in various roles for nearly 17 years.
Sanofi just hired Stephanie Chew as head of ethics and business integrity for greater China. Chew was previously a partner at KPMG’s China operations for two years. She’s based in Shanghai.
Cosmetics giant Revlon has hired Luciana Castro as vice president for global regulatory and product compliance. Castro comes to the company after 21 years at Firmenich, a Swiss-based chemicals manufacturer, where most recently she was senior vice president for regulatory affairs.
Carlye Thommen has joined JPMorgan Chase as executive director of global financial crimes compliance. Thommen previously worked across town at Citibank for six years, most recently as director of financial crimes compliance testing.
Trisha Smith has moved into a new role at Cardinal Health, from director of employee relations and HR services to director of ethics and compliance investigations. Working in compliance is, of course, way cooler than HR.
Autumn Barrow has been promoted at Walmart, from level two senior project manager to director of compliance operations. Barrow has been with Walmart in various roles since 2012.
Microchip giant Broadcom has hired Mani Phannavong as trade compliance operations manager. Phannavong comes to Broadcom from Wind River, where she had been manager of global trade compliance. (Broadcom gets $11 billion a year from sales to China, so we expect trade compliance will keep her busy!)
Erin Leone has joined pharmaceutical giant Takeda as associate director for global labeling compliance. Leone previously worked as associate director of compliance at Organon for nearly three years, also overseeing labeling compliance.
Kohler Credit Union, based in the Upper Midwest cultural capital of Sheboygan, Wisc., has hired Christine Murray as vice president of audit and compliance. Murray comes to Kohler from Cardinal Financial Co., where she had been internal audit manager for the last year.
In Hungary, ING Bank has hired Zoltán Halmai as head of compliance. Halmai joins ING after 11 years at MetLife, where most recently he was chief risk and compliance officer for its Hungary operations.
Sticking with Europe, MoneyGram has hired Vanessa Morato as regional compliance officer for Portugal. Morato previously worked for Diool, a fintech startup based in Cameroon, as legal and compliance officer.
In Sweden, Anna Althoff has joined SEB Investments as head of compliance. Althoff comes to SEB, one of the largest asset management firms in Scandinavia, after two years as head of compliance at Erik Penser Bank.
And in Pakistan, wireless communications provider Telenor has promoted Ayesha Munir from assistant manager for corporate legal affairs to manager of ethics and compliance. Munir has been with Telenor since 2022.
