The Compliance Jobs Report rolls on, with promotions at Georgia-Pacific, Charter Communications,  and Tyson Foods; departures at Truist and WEG; new hires at Allianz, Invivyd; and lots more news. Compliance Jobs Report

This week we begin with a promotion at Georgia-Pacific, where Lenton Cooper has been elevated to vice president of global compliance and ethics. Cooper has been with the paper products company for 13 years, and previously was vice president of customer experience and marketing. (OK, that’s a lateral move from one vice president role to another, but we all know moving into compliance is a step up. Plus Cooper had previously worked in Georgia-Pacific’s compliance function earlier in his career.)

Now we move to a departure: Denise DeMaio has retired from Truist, the worst-named big bank in the United States, where she had been chief audit executive since 2022. Succeeding her as head of internal audit is Grant Harbrecht, previously the bank’s chief compliance officer since 2019. We’re not sure who might succeed Harbrecht as CCO — but since the bank is going through a major cost-cutting exercise right now, perhaps we shouldn’t ask.

NCR Atleos, maker of ATMs and their associated technologies, has hired Randy Ward as senior manager of ethics and compliance. Ward joins the company after two years at TE Connectivity, where he had been manager of global trade services.

In Colombia, Santiago Rodríguez has joined state-owned oil company Ecopetrol as an ethics and compliance professional; not sure what his exact role will be. Rodríguez comes to the company from Fogafín, a banking regulator in Colombia roughly equivalent to the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. He arrives just after Ecopetrol’s head of ethics and compliance announced her departure two weeks ago.

Two promotions to note from Biotech research firm Sobi. First, Andrew Yoder has moved up the ladder from senior manager of ethics and compliance to associate director. Also, Eugene Jackson has been promoted from senior manager of trade compliance and operations to associate director.

Elizabeth Hansen is stepping down as chief compliance officer at Wealth Enhancement Group, an investment advisory firm based in Minnesota with $81 billion in assets under management. Hansen will be succeeded on an interim basis by Joe Dieckhaus, WEG’s vice president of compliance operations since 2021. Both Hansen and Dieckhaus worked in risk and compliance at Ameriprise Financial Services in the 2010s.

Tyson Foods has named Raymond House senior director for global trade access compliance, customer service, and logistics. House had already been director of customer service and logistics, and has been with Tyson in various roles since 2010.

Panthera Biopartners has promoted Leah Williams from senior site compliance specialist to regional compliance lead. Williams is based in Britain and has worked with Panthera since 2021.

Margarita Malhorta has joined Invivyd, a biotech company developing antibody therapies to help fight covid and other viral illnesses; she will be ethics and compliance director. Malhorta previously worked at Reckitt, the British consumer products giant, as North America ethics and compliance director.

Another item from the world of ESG assurance and reporting! Amazon.com has tapped Amy Feran as an ESG controls and compliance specialist. Feran joined Amazon in 2021 as a third-party risk management specialist.

Sean Dusseau has moved into a new role at ScotiaBank, from head of swaps dealer and derivatives compliance to head of capital markets compliance. He has been with the bank for nearly six years.

Speaking of ScotiaBank, Ahsan Habib just left there, where he had been a senior analyst for AML operations and risk. He has joined RBC as manager for AML investigations in correspondent banking.

Inari Medical, a medical equipment maker based in Irvine, Calif., has promoted Meagan Baczkowski from internal audit manager to senior manager.

Kavita Dogra has joined Allianz Australia as internal audit business manager. Dogra previously worked for five years at Australia financial services giant Macquarie, most recently as associate director of business technology risk.

Divya Marda has left her job at Cotiviti, where she had spent the last three years as a compliance manager in the firm’s India operations, to join medical software company ModMed India as senior compliance program manager. Onward and upward!

Charter Communications has promoted Lauren Oreto from lead SOX auditor to internal audit manager. Oreto has been with Charter since last September.

And Latrish Davis has joined Everon (previously known as ADT Commercial, maker of security systems) as senior manager of internal audit. Davis previously worked at Ernst & Young, where she was a senior manager in the enterprise risk consulting practice.

Milestones

Erik Fagley is celebrating one year at Cisco Systems as third-party risk manager.

Lance Kotschwar is celebrating one year as associate global counsel for corporate compliance at WD-40, maker of everyone’s favorite lubricant.

Nena Lekwauwa is celebrating one year as assistant vice president for global compliance at ETS, the education and testing company.

Michael Clarke just hit five years as global chief compliance officer at ConvaTec, a medical technology firm in New Jersey.

Irina Lazieva is celebrating five years at oilfield services giant KBR, where she is director of business integrity.

And we’d be remiss if we didn’t applaud the Coalition for Integrity, an anti-corruption nonprofit, which held its annual dinner last week and gave its Individual Integrity Award to Alexei Navalny, the Russian anti-corruption advocate who died earlier this year in a Russian prison under Putin’s orders mysterious circumstances. An honor well-deserved.
