Compliance Jobs Report: May 10

Another robust Compliance Jobs Report this week, with new hires at MetroHealth, Cummins, Comerica, Bechtel, AMD, Abertis, T-Mobile, and elsewhere. We also have a few promotions to note; job leads are in gambling, mutual funds, and online advertising; and Meme of the Week goes out to third-party risk management!

Compliance Jobs Report

This week we begin with MetroHealth, a public hospital system in Cleveland, which has hired Christopher Briddell as chief ethics, risk, and compliance officer. Briddell comes to MetroHealth after five years at AnMed Health in South Carolina, where he had been chief compliance officer. 

Floyd Kessler is joining Comerica Bank as chief business controls officer, a newly created role that will oversee risk and controls for Comerica’s commercial and retail banking, as well as its marketing, customer experience, and wealth management operations. Kessler comes to Comerica after several years at Silicon Valley Bank (now defunct) and First Citizens Bank (the bank that acquired SVB’s remaining assets). 

Construction giant Bechtel Corp. has hired Daniele Hickey as ethics and compliance officer for its energy division. Hickey previously spent a few months at Hy Cite as a corporate compliance manager, and before that had been at Stryker for several years as a corporate compliance education manager. 

Thomas Leistner has left XPO Logistics, where he had been vice president of ethics and compliance for the last 18 months, to join AMD as head of global compliance and investigations.

Compliance jobsHeavy equipment manufacturer Cummins has hired Danyal Solomon as senior director of global ethics and compliance. Solomon joins Cummins from Ericsson, where he had been head of compliance for the company’s business communications division. 

BHI, the U.S division of Israel’s Bank Hapoalim, has hired Nisan Blum as chief risk and compliance officer; he will report directly to CEO Gil Karni and join the senior management team. Blum joins BHI from Cross River Bank, where he served as chief compliance officer.

Ivim Health, a healthcare business based in Ohio, has hired Craig Clesson as vice president of compliance. Clesson spent the last year as a solo healthcare compliance consultant, and before that had been chief compliance officer at Realm IDx

Two updates from CDPQ, an investment fund in Quebec that manages public pension plans. First, Sarah Winton has been hired as director of internal audit; she previously worked at Ivanhoe Cambridge, a real estate investment firm in Montreal, where she had also been director of internal audit. The firm also moved Ayman Daher from chief compliance officer for Otera Capital, CDPQ’s real estate investment subsidiary, to be senior director of ethics and compliance for the entire business. 

Coleman Hudson has left his job at Aon, where he had been head of legal and compliance for the Ireland market. No word yet on what he might do next. 

Janet Foster has joined T-Mobile as senior corporate counsel. Doing what, you ask? Well, Foster previously worked for the U.S. House Ethics Committee where she was senior counsel for investigations; I think that’s our answer.

Veronica Carr has shifted over to Exxon Mobil as a regulatory compliance supervisor. Carr had previously been regulatory compliance supervisor at Denbury, an oil business in Texas that Exxon recently acquired. 

Consumers Energy has promoted Laura Kuhl from senior manager of regulatory compliance to director of regulatory compliance. 

Hyland, a software development company headquartered in Ohio, has promoted Theresa Kolo from director of financial reporting to assistant vice president of financial reporting and internal audit. Kolo has been with Hyland since last fall.

Abertis, a Spanish company that manages toll roads around the world, has hired Olga Polo Gomez as chief compliance officer. Gomez comes to the company from Forus, an operator of sports and fitness centers in southern Europe, where she had been general counsel.

Mark Ireland has gone to work for the City of Dallas (that’s in Texas) as a grants compliance administrator. Ireland previously worked at Aptive Environmental for three years as a senior compliance specialist.

And in Belgium, software development firm N-Side has promoted Divya Sreedhar from audit and compliance coordinator to audit and compliance manager. 

Milestones

Susan Currey is celebrating one year as chief compliance officer at Sionic, a payments technology provider.

Kelly Dixon is celebrating one year at GE Vernova as senior regulatory and compliance manager. 

Tanja Gromadzki-Hobby just hit one year at TD Synnex, where she is senior director of ethics and compliance. 

And Paul McClung just hit 10 years at WestRock, where he is vice president of internal audit.

Vendors & Service Providers

Stephen Reynolds has left his job as chief compliance officer for federal programs at Cigna, to join law firm Day Pitney as a partner in its white-collar defense practice. 

Open Req Orders

DraftKings is looking for a senior manager for its compliance and risk advisory team. Job is based in Boston; salary range is $136,000 to $205,000. 

Principal Financial is recruiting a compliance adviser for its U.S. funds. Job can be remote, although Principal’s in-person offices are in Des Moines, Iowa; salary range is $95,000 to $167,000. 

Integral Ad Science is looking for a senior director of internal audit and SOX compliance. Job is based in New York City, with a quite wide salary range of $161,000 to $276,000.
