Job leads are in consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and higher education; and Meme of the Week goes out to sustainability officers!

Compliance Jobs Report

This week we begin with Volkswagen, where Thomas Meiers is stepping down after seven years of running integrity matters for the auto manufacturer. We’re not sure what Meiers plans to do next, but he posted this morning that after 14 years in the ethics and compliance field, “It is now time for me to begin a new era in my life.” Meiers ran the VW monitorship in the late 2010s arising from its emissions-cheating scandal, and previously worked at Seat SA and Man Truck and Bus too. 

CVS Health has a new head of internal audit and enterprise risk management: Karen Begelfer, who comes to the retail giant from Hewlett-Packard. Begelfer had been chief audit executive and head of ERM at HP since 2021.

Camélia Gardot recently joined Hertz as compliance director. Prior to Hertz Gardot had been head of “compliance connected intelligence” at Airbus Defense and Space

Blaine Dart has joined Becton Dickinson as assistant general counsel and compliance officer. Dart comes to the medical device giant after many years at Zimmer Biomet (and at Biomet before the two merged). Most recently he had been vice president and compliance officer for Zimmer’s U.S. and Canada operations. 

Alliance Entertainment Holding Corp., which distributes vinyl records (yes, keep the faith!), video games, compact discs, and other collectibles, has promoted Robert Black from senior vice president for accounting to chief compliance officer. The company also promoted Amanda Gnecco from senior vice president for accounting and finance to chief accounting officer. 

Several updates from Citibank this week: 

  • Guillermo González has been promoted from assistant vice president and senior AML compliance analyst to vice president and global AML compliance officer. 
  • Marjaana Vesala has moved up from country compliance officer for Finland to head of compliance for the Nordics, and country compliance officer for Sweden.
  • Alexa Pino joins the bank as anti-money laundering compliance execution analyst. Pino previously worked at  PNC as an AML investigations associate. 

Panduit, a manufacturer of control panels, wiring, and other items related to physical infrastructure, has hired Christy Areste as global ethics and compliance manager. Areste comes to Panduit after 11 years at Grainger, where most recently she was senior manager for global trade compliance and anti-corruption.

American Honda Finance Corp. has promoted Angie Pearson from senior regulatory compliance analyst to assistant manager of regulatory compliance. Pearson has been with Honda for two years. 

Krisztina Füzesy has a new role at Danske Bank as “product owner” of regulatory reporting. Füzesy has been with the bank in various roles for nearly seven years, and previously had been head of risk reporting and review.

Boeing has hired Madeleine Capetillo as a dangerous goods compliance specialist. Capetillo comes to Boeing from DMG USA, a packaging company “taking the danger out of dangerous goods,” where she was a customer success lead.

Ross Finlayson has joined Curry, a tech retailer based in Britain, as group director of internal audit, risk, and insurance. Finlayson previously worked at Bensons for Beds for eight months as interim head of risk and compliance. 

New York-Presbyterian Hospital has promoted Corina Chen, from policy compliance analyst to senior policy compliance analyst.

Dutch IT outsourcing company Ubiquity has hired Paul Edgecombe as chief risk and compliance officer for U.K. and Europe. Edgecombe previously worked at Infact Systems as head of compliance. 

Paula Pereira has a new job as regional compliance officer for Glencore, the commodities trading giant. Pereira comes to Glencore after five years at Norwegian energy giant Statkraft, where she most recently had been head of compliance for continental Europe.

In Boston, Candace Durkee has a new job at pharmacy benefits manager Optum as a senior healthcare compliance auditor. Durkee was previously a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital; congratulations on the career switch!

Sarah Dietz has joined Duff & Phelps as a senior compliance analyst. Dietz comes to the investment management firm from Synergy RIA Compliance Solutions, where she had been a senior compliance consultant.

Technology firm Lytx, which makes software to help manage shipping fleets, has hired Elena Asher as global trade and compliance manager. Asher joins the San Diego-based company after two years at Iron Mountain as director of logistics and customs compliance. 

Novo Nordisk has promoted Karol Hammer from IT analyst to senior IT compliance analyst. Hammer has been with the drug maker for seven years. 

The Children’s Place has promoted Adam Krug from internal audit director to senior director of internal audit.

Burlington Stores has hired Nicolette Kothe as internal audit manager. Kothe comes to the retailer after six years at Deloitte, most recently as audit manager. 

J.D. Irving, a forestry and paper products company based in New Brunswick, Canada, has hired Laura Martin as senior manager of internal audit. Martin comes to the company from RSM Canada, where she had been director of finance and accounting.

Johnson & Johnson just picked up Sandra Otero as trade compliance operations lead. Otero, based in New Jersey, joins J&J after 19 years at clothing company PVH, most recently as international trade compliance coordinator.

Cetera Financial Group, which operates a network of retail financial advisers, has hired Dan Burkott as chief compliance officer for the group’s tax advisory business. Burkott previously worked at Atria Wealth Solutions for not quite three years as executive director of compliance. 

And Mariarosaria Serafino wins coolest title of the week! Siemens Healthcare has just promoted her from regulatory affairs manager to “PRRC” — person responsible for regulatory compliance. She is based in Italy and has been with Siemens Healthcare for 10 years. 

Milestones

Shaunta Bing is celebrating one year at Humana, where she is a senior compliance officer. 

Tanja Gromadzki-Hobby is celebrating one year at TD Synnex, where she is senior director for ethics and compliance in the Americas.

Donnetta Horseman is celebrating one year as chief ethics and compliance officer at City of Hope, which actually is a hospital system based in California rather than a city.

Nicolai Ellehuus is celebrating five years at Bang & Olufsen, a luxury audio and home entertainment company, where he is head of compliance, ethics, and risk management. 

Open Req Orders

Sanofi is looking for a head of ethics and business integrity for its Africa, Middle East, and Southeast Asia unit. Job is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; no salary range listed. 

Georgia Institute of Technology is looking for a conflicts of interest compliance officer. Job is based in Atlanta, with a salary range of $61,750 to $75,000. 

Consumer health products giant Kenvue is looking for a senior manager of SOX compliance. Job is based in Skillman, N.J.; no salary range provided. #FrownUpon
