Speaking of Australia, Commonwealth Bank (the largest bank in the country) has promoted Nosiku Nkwilimba from manager of the bank’s financial crime compliance advisory team to manager of policy governance, anti-bribery, and tax evasion. Nkwilimba has been with Commonwealth for five years.
Remember Sean McHugh, chief compliance officer at Citadel until one year ago? He just turned up as senior director and head of market assurance at the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority of Dubai. Not sure what VARA will be doing, but good to see McHugh is keeping his hand in the game.
Esri, maker of GIS software, has hired Jessica Newby as risk and compliance manager. Newby joins the company from North Dakota Information Technology, an IT consulting firm in, you guessed it, North Dakota; where she had been GRC manager.
Steven Bassler, last seen at Santander US as a corporate risk manager until 2022, just turned up at Bristol Community College in Fall River, Mass. as risk and compliance officer.
In Britain, Rachel Hoodless has joined Seco Support as head of compliance. Hoodless comes to the assisted-care company from Lifetime Training, where she had been a regional trainer for the last three years.

Changing of the audit guard at Banner Bank, a small regional bank in the Pacific Northwest: chief audit executive Jim Garcia is retiring after seven years on the job. He will be succeeded by Scott Newman, who comes to Banner from PEMCO, an insurance business based in Seattle, where Newman was head of risk management and internal audit.
Jones Lang LaSalle Securities just hired James Downing as chief compliance officer. Downing previously worked at Morningstar as global chief compliance officer from 2021 until last November. (He also did a drive-by at the ACA Consulting Group as a senior consultant for a few months earlier this year, too.)
Biotech giant Regeneron has promoted Kristen Burns from regulatory sciences project specialist to external manufacturing compliance specialist. Burns has been with Regeneron since 2018.
Apple has promoted Danny Badalamenti from people support specialist to global compliance project manager. Badalamenti has worked for the tech giant in various roles for 12 years.
Pallavi Sharma has a new job at LCBO, the government-run liquor business in Ontario, Canada, as senior manager of financial technology and IT general controls compliance. Sharma previously worked at Thomson Reuters as senior manager for security compliance and governance.
And we’re big fans of remote places here at Radical Compliance, so we’re delighted to note that Emily McBride has been hired as compliance officer for the government of the Northern Territory of Australia — the beautiful desert landscape that includes the Outback. McBride comes to the territory from the McDonnell Regional Council, the local government for indigenous tribes near Alice Springs, Australia.

Open Req Orders
Sutter Health is looking for a deputy chief compliance officer. Job is based in Sacramento, Calif., with a salary range listed at $88.63 to $141.82 per hour. (That translates into $177,260 to $283,640. Still ridiculously wide any way you present it.
New York City’s Office of Technology and Innovation is looking for a deputy CISO for governance, risk, and compliance. Salary range is listed as $97,000 to $220,000, which of course is ridiculously wide; job itself is of course based in New York.
Google is seeking a senior director of assurance, compliance, and integrity. Job can be based in New York, Chicago, Washington, or Mountain View, Calif. Salary range is $288,000 to $414,000. Unclear whether you need to do those weird Google interview tests like calculating how many golf balls fit in a school bus.
