Compliance Jobs Report
This week we begin at Ohio University (which is not the same as Ohio State University), which just promoted Mary Anne Boyle to be executive director of the Office of Audit, Risk, and Compliance, which makes Boyle the school’s chief audit executive. Boyle has been with Ohio University for 10 years, and previously served as executive associate athletic director for internal operations for the athletic department.
Kristen Hecht has quit her job at Binance, where she had been deputy chief compliance officer and global anti-money laundering officer. Hecht had been at the troubled crypto firm for a year. What’s next? We’re not sure. Hecht did begin work as chief compliance officer at “a very exciting venture in stealth mode” but that could mean anything.
Wells Fargo has hired Paul Lukas as chief compliance officer for its consumer and small business compliance programs. Lukas comes to the banking giant after 12 years at JPMorgan Chase, where most recently he was chief compliance officer for JPM’s fair lending efforts.
Robert Nolan has been hired by AffirmedRx, a pharmacy benefits manager, as chief compliance officer. Nolan comes to Affirmed — which touts itself as a public benefit corporation, putting an extra emphasis on integrity — from AdventHealth, where he had been corporate responsibility officer for the company’s West Florida operations.
Payments firm Chime has hired Steven Appeltans as senior director of internal audit and SOX. Appeltans comes to Chime from Udemy, where he had been senior director of internal audit.
Merlin Entertainments, the company behind theme parks and entertainment shops such as Legoland and Madame Tussaud’s, has hired Rebecca Mayfield as global compliance counsel. Mayfield comes to Merlin from Norstella, maker of pharmaceutical industry software, where she had been global head of compliance and ESG.
Remember John Sardar, last seen as global head of compliance at booze giant AB InBev until February of this year? Turns out he has been working as deputy chief compliance officer for Sempra Infrastructure in Houston since May. Glad to see him back in the game; five demerits for not updating his Linkedin profile in a timely manner.
Law firm Holland and Knight has promoted Diane Del Re from privacy and compliance senior manager to privacy and compliance director. Del Re has been with the firm for four years.
Franklin Templeton has hired Kristina Kavanagh as a compliance officer. Kavanagh comes to the asset management firm from Brandywine Global Investment Management, where she had been compliance manager for two years.
Kristi Faulkner Lewis has joined Nashville General Hospital as chief compliance officer. Faulkner previously spent seven years as vice president of compliance at Covenant Physician Partners, a physician services business acquired by Tenet Healthcare earlier this year.
Everpay has promoted Matthew Cooper from head of monitoring to head of compliance. Cooper only came to the British-based fintech giant earlier this year.
Amit Sonawane has joined Tata Technologies as compliance counsel. Sonawane comes to the Indian tech giant from Maruti Suzuki Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki, where he had been senior compliance manager since 2022.
BAE Systems has promoted Brian Taschenberger from proposal compliance lead to director of proposal compliance. He has been with the defense contractor in various roles for 23 years.
Rafael Molinari Rodrigues has a new job down in Brazil as South America compliance officer for Zen-Noh Grain, a company that supplies grain to Japan. He previously was regional compliance officer for Viterra, an agricultural logistics firm headquartered in Rotterdam.
Thuy Tran has joined Catalyze, a renewable energies business based in Houston, as compliance manager. Tran comes to Catalyze after four years at NexTier Oilfield Solutions, where she most recently had been a senior data analyst in the internal audit function.
Online delivery service Deliveroo has hired Cameron Moyce as compliance team lead, working from the company’s headquarters in London. Moyce previously worked at SnapScan, a payments company, where he had been operations manager in South Africa.
City National Bank, with $93.7 billion in assets, has hired Julie Richard as deputy chief compliance officer. Richard comes to City National after three years at BNY Mellon, where most recently she was in charge of compliance for the investment and wealth management divisions.
Triumph Financial, a fintech firm in Texas working in online payments, has hired Mitchell Lee for the newly created role of chief risk and compliance officer. Lee previously worked at Synctera, another fintech firm, where he also had been chief risk and compliance officer.
MHS Homes, a housing nonprofit in Britain, has promoted Louise Humphrey from corporate secretary to director of compliance and governance. Not sure whether that’s an upward move in the strictest sense, but adding “compliance” to your title is always a step up.
Walmart has moved Heather Maxwell upstairs, from director of specialty compliance and ethics to senior director with a focus on food product compliance.
Erick Lee has been promoted at Intuit, from director of enterprise security and compliance to vice president of the same. He has been with Intuit seven years.
And CARE, the Atlanta-based nonprofit that helps disadvantaged women and families around the world, has hired Erwin Majani as director of risk and compliance for its Kenya operations. Majani comes to CARE after three years at Save the Children International, where he had been head of internal audit and compliance.
