Compliance Jobs
MKS Instruments, a maker of semiconductor equipment, has hired Patrick Cieslica as senior IT and SOX compliance manager. Cieslica previously worked at Sumitomo Pharma America for seven years as director of internal audit and risk management.
Hello Heart, a delightfully named cardiac health startup based in Silicon Valley, has hired Christina Garcia as chief compliance officer. Garcia joins Hello Heart from Agendia, a biotech startup, where she spent the last three years as senior vice president of compliance.
We have two items this week from Barclays and its India operations. First, Abhishek Verma has joined the bank as vice president of compliance for India; he comes to Barclays from YES Bank, where he had been executive vice president of compliance for three years. Second, Nilesh Mehta has come aboard as assistant vice president for compliance testing, working from the bank’s operations center in India. Mehta joins Barclays after two years at IDFC First Bank, where he had been senior audit executive.
In Dubai, Mohammed Ziyal Huq has been named chief compliance officer for the International Development Exchange, a global payments firm. Huq joins IDE from Sama Exchange, a foreign exchange service, where he had been chief compliance officer since 2016.
Kelly Hubbard has joined GKN Aerospace as senior export compliance manager. Hubbard comes to the firm from Parker Meggitt, a U.S.-based aerospace firm, where she most recently had been division trade compliance manager.
Origin Energy, a power utility in Australia, has hired Rose Bayona as group compliance manager. Bayona comes to Origin after six years at EnergyAustralia, where most recently she was regulatory compliance manager.
Craig Kunkel has joined facilities management giant Cintas as a training and compliance instructor. Kunkel previously had a brief stint with the Colorado Springs Police Department; prior to that he spent many years in the U.S. Army as an operations manager.
Braun Group, the German medical equipment giant, has expanded the duties of Daniele Bittencourt Lopes, from regional compliance officer for Latin America to regional compliance officer for Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
Heather Smith has a new job at Republic Services, the waste disposal and recycling giant, as assistant division controller. Smith was previously at Walmart for nearly nine years, most recently as senior manager for global internal controls.
XE.com, a currency exchange and money transfer business, has hired Marissa Demery as a senior regulatory compliance analyst. Demery had been out of the business for a few years raising young ones at home; earlier in her career she was a regional compliance specialist for Amazon.com.
Avient Corp., a plastics manufacturer based in Ohio, has hired Robert Crissinger as technology controls and compliance leader. Crissinger comes to Avient from Eaton Corp., where most recently he was senior manager for controls and compliance.
North, a rather blandly named payments company based in Troy, Mich., has hired Sierra DeSilvio as senior enhanced compliance analyst. Before North DeSilivio was a risk supervisor for Resorts Digital Gaming.
Maggie Pearis has joined gambling giant Bally’s as a compliance manager, working in Bally’s Louisiana operations. Pearis comes to Bally’s from the Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack, where she had been director of compliance for two years; but prior to that Pearis had worked for Bally’s before as a senior internal auditor.
First Citizens Bank in New York has hired Andy Tien as a senior compliance officer. Tien had previously been a vice president at Société Générale and compliance officer for the employee investment program.
Option Care Health, a healthcare system headquartered in Illinois, has hired Janelle Dyjasek as manager of compliance program operations. Dyjasek previously worked at consulting firm Protiviti for four years, most recently as a senior consultant in the firm’s healthcare practice.
Promotions
ComEd, the utilities company based in Chicago with a checkered ethics and compliance past, has promoted Phycheena Byas to senior compliance manager. Byas has been with ComEd for 20 years and previously was regional manager of electric operations.
Oracle has promoted Daniel Sibille from regional senior compliance director for Latin America to vice president of compliance for the region. Sibille has been with Oracle for nine years and is based in Brazil.
Citibank has promoted Blaine VanLiew from senior compliance analyst to vice president and senior surveillance compliance analyst.
Sabre Corp. has promoted Makenzie Francisco from principal technical accountant to corporate accounting and compliance manager.
Baxter International has promoted Jason Shutt from senior principal engineer to product security compliance lead.
CTS Nordics, a construction firm in Norway, has promoted Sini Hakkarainen from health and safety officer to senior compliance officer.
And Charlie Hrncir, the long-time chief auditor at Texas A&M University, has announced that he is retiring. Hrncir has been chief auditor at Texas A&M since 2015, and first joined the audit team there in 2000. The school is conducting a formal search to find his replacement.

Kevin Espinoza is celebrating one year as vice president of integrity and compliance at pharmaceutical company Indivior.
Phil Martin just hit one year as senior vice president of compliance operations at Old Glory Bank in Oklahoma.
And Tobi Tanzer is celebrating 30 years (!!!) at HealthPartners in Minnesota, where she is chief compliance officer and senior vice president for integrity.
Vendors & Service Providers
The law firm McGuireWoods just hired David Hirsch, previously head of the cryptocurrency enforcement team at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as a partner in the firm’s regulatory advisory practice.
Open Req Orders
Dana Farber Cancer Institute, one of the premier cancer centers in the world, is looking for a vice president of compliance. Job is based in Boston. No salary range provided but these folks do important work so we’ll let it slide.
Fox Corp. just posted for a deputy chief ethics and compliance officer. Job is based in Los Angeles, with a salary range listed at $320,000 to $450,000.
JPMorgan Chase is seeking a vice president of internal audit. Job is based in Jersey City, N.J., with a salary range of $138,000 to $200,000.
And one bonus listing today, for all you folks who grumble at federal prosecutors! The U.S. Justice Department is looking for a trial lawyer to join its corporate enforcement unit. Job is based in Washington, D.C., with a salary range listed at $164,000 – $191,000. Here’s your big chance to show ‘em how compliance really works.
