Compliance Jobs Report: Sept. 13
The Compliance Jobs Report this week has news from Walgreens Boots Alliance, Oracle, Apollo Global Management, Citizens, Geico, Ball Corp., and many more. A new association for compliance officers in Europe just launched; we have job leads in airport security, armored cars, and higher ed; and Meme of the Week goes out to presidential debates!
Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.
We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

This week we begin with a promotion at the Walgreens Boots Alliance, where Paul Jaquez has moved up from deputy compliance and ethics officer to managing global compliance counsel. Jaquez has been with Walgreens since 2019.
Houlihan Lokey, the investment bank based in Los Angeles, has hired Marc Ben-Canaan as chief compliance officer for U.S. operations. Ben-Canaan comes to the firm from Select Equity Group, where he had been director of compliance since 2018.
Valerie Nelson has joined Citizens as executive director of compliance. Nelson comes to the bank from Capital One, where she spent the last nine years as head of compliance for commercial banking and functions.
Oracle just picked up Phil Horowitz as an internal audit manager. Horowitz was previously at CIBC for a year working on technology control assessments, and prior to that spent 20 years at Avaya as director of internal audit.
Lacy McKillip has joined brokerage firm Charles Schwab as senior manager of compliance risk testing. McKillip previously worked at TIAA for 10 years, most recently as manager of regulatory program management, a rather meta title.

TD Bank has hired Jeffrey Lurie as an internal audit manager. Lurie comes to TD from Texas Capital Bank, where he had also been an internal audit manager.

Abbott Labs has promoted Christopher Moody, from ethics and compliance officer for medical devices to associate general counsel for medical devices. We wish him well, although losing “ethics and compliance” in your title does make one a tiny bit less cool.
Danette Slevinski just turned up at the Start Center for Cancer Research, where she is the new vice president of compliance. Slevinski had been doing solo consulting work since she parted ways at the start of this year with Atlantic Health System, where she had been chief compliance, privacy, and internal audit officer. (Yikes, that’s a lotta hats.)

Commonwealth Bank, one of the largest banks in Australia, has promoted Monica Botros from senior associate for global markets business oversight to compliance manager.
Cresset, multi-family office and private investment firm based in Chicago, has hired Amy Hong as chief compliance officer. Hong previously worked at JPMorgan Chase as managing director in its wealth management division, helping JPM to integrate First Republic into its operations (little surprise, given that Hong had been at First Republic prior to joining JPM). Hong succeeds Bob Pagliuco, who is retiring.
Apollo Global Management has promoted Scott Lucy from business manager for corporate and financial systems to director of internal audit and SOX compliance. Lucy has been with the asset management giant since 2022.

Nium, a cross-border payments firm, has hired Philip Doyle as its new chief compliance officer. Doyle comes to Nium from the Zepz Group, another global payments firm, where he had been chief risk and compliance officer since 2021.
And BCB Group, a provider of back-end services to cryptocurrency firms, is losing its compliance officer Natasha Powell. Powell had been with the firm since May 2022; no word on what she might do next. Powell is the fifth senior executive to leave BCB in 18 months. Hmmm.
