Compliance Jobs
This week we begin at Binance, the cryptocurrency trading platform that settled a huge anti-money laundering case one year ago; Todd McElduff just announced that he is the company’s new head of enterprise compliance. McElduff comes to Binance from PayPal, where he had been head of global financial crimes oversight since 2022. By coincidence, Binance also said this week that it is on pace to employ nearly 650 compliance staffers by the end of this year, a 34 percent increase from 2023 headcount.
Next we move to Intel, where chief compliance officer Carol Tate is leaving after nine years at the chip manufacturing giant. Tate had been CCO for two years, and worked in several legal, ethics, and compliance roles before that. No word yet on what she might do next or who might succeed her as compliance chief at Intel, so stay tuned.
Christina Conlin is leaving her job at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, where she has been chief risk officer and associate general counsel for regulatory affairs since 2022. What’s next? Conlin is moving to Union Pacific to be deputy general counsel. Presumably she’s also in line to succeed chief legal officer Craig Richardson, who is retiring next March.
American Express has hired Bryan Holloway as a compliance manager in its financial intelligence unit. Holloway comes to Amex from BGH Financial, where he most recently was director of financial crimes compliance.
Grant Wright is joining Swiss pharmaceutical firm Lonza as customs compliance lead here in the United States. Wright previously worked at DHL Global Forwarding in various roles for 10 years, most recently as senior manager of U.S. trade compliance.
Spanish banking giant BBVA has hired Anne-Christine Wegener as head of compliance and anti-money laundering for its Germany operations. Wegener comes to BBVA from N26, a German financial firm, where she had been head of anti-financial crimes compliance.
Susan Panzer has parted ways with Xerox, where she had been chief audit executive since 2021. Not sure what she might be doing next.
Angel Gonzalez has joined TikTok as a compliance specialist in its trust and safety division. Gonzalez comes to TikTok from Disney, where he had been a privacy compliance analyst on a short-term contract since earlier this year.
Edgo, an engineering and oilfield services business based in Jordan, has hired Hanaa Najjar as compliance officer. Najjar comes to Edgo from Bank of Jordan, where she had been compliance officer since 2021.

Bally’s Interactive, the online gambling division of gambling giant Bally’s, has hired Oliver Coote a compliance officer for its U.K. operations. Coote previously worked at Metropolitan Gaming in London for two years as a compliance officer.

MVB Bank, a mid-sized consumer bank based in West Virginia, has hired Joseph Rodriguez as chief risk officer. Rodriguez had previously been executive risk officer for Capital One in nearby Richmond, Va.
Speaking of Capital One, the bank just hired Jennifer Fread as a compliance testing associate. Fread had been out of the workforce for a while raising a few young humans, and good for her including that in her LinkedIn profile; it’s a full-time job with plenty of skills relevant to corporate compliance. Prior to that she was at Harley-Davidson Financial Services as a quality assurance analyst.
Jacek Dziworski just joined Peninsula Ireland, an HR advisory firm, as compliance officer. Dziworski comes to the firm after six years at PayPal, where he had been a customer operations support specialist.
Swissquote, an online bank based in (wait for it) Switzerland, has hired Avegeil Guinto as a compliance officer for the UAE market. Guinto previously worked at MABA Corporate Services as a senior compliance officer.

And farewell to Stacey Babson Kaplan, one of the O.G.s of corporate ethics and compliance! She announced her retirement this week after 22 years at Terex Corp. Kaplan had been chief compliance officer at the manufacturer since 2008, and worked in other compliance and legal roles there since 2002. She has been a long-time supporter of the compliance field, and she will be missed.
