What better way to spend Thanksgiving than by reading the Compliance Jobs Report? This week we have a departure at Johnson & Johnson, promotions at TD Bank and Lucid Motors, new hires at General Motors and Abu Dhabi Ports, and lots more. Job leads are in public utilities, manufacturing, and dentists; and don’t forget our Meme of the Week!

Compliance Jobs
This week we begin with news that Shane Freedman is leaving Johnson & Johnson after 16 years in various compliance roles at the company. For the last year Freedman has been CCO at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine; earlier in his career he worked in J&J’s medical device and consumer healthcare divisions. What’s next? Freedman only says he will “share details of my next career chapter soon,” so keep reading the Jobs Report to find out!
Lucid Motors has promoted Brian Tomkiel from chief compliance officer and deputy general counsel to general counsel. Tomkiel will also continue to hold the CCO title; we frown upon that here at Radical Compliance and hope the company will hire a dedicated CCO soon. Tomkiel succeeds Matthew Everitt, who left Lucid in September to be CCO at Carrier.
Another week, another update from TD Bank as it claws its way back to respectability after a mammoth anti-money laundering settlement earlier this year. TD has promoted Michelle Meyers from controller and chief accountant to global chief auditor. She succeeds Anita O’Dell, who had been chief auditor since 2021, and is retiring in December.
Jonathan Robbins, last seen earlier this year at LPL Financial as chief compliance officer for the firm’s investment advisory unit, just turned up Perigon Wealth Management; he’s general counsel and CCO there.
Dutch payments firm Thunes has hired Peter Cohen as chief compliance officer. Cohen joins Thunes from Xplor Technologies, a software firm dabbling in the payments space, where he had been senior VP of enterprise risk and regulatory compliance.
President’s Choice Financial, a financial services firm based in Toronto, has hired Pete Chan as a business compliance officer. Chan comes to PC Financial after a year at Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, where he had been an internal auditor.
Manufacturing business Graco has hired Solomon Awosanya as an IT compliance analyst. Awosanya comes to the Minnesota firm from Aspinwood Consulting, where he had been a senior IT auditor.
Gerasimos Rados has joined Allianz Greece as a compliance officer, working from (duh) Athens. Rados previously worked at LeasePlan, a Dutch company working in auto leasing, as a KYC analyst.
Included Health, a healthcare startup based in San Francisco, has hired Timothy Springer as corporate compliance officer. Springer joins Included from Kindbody, where he had been chief compliance and privacy officer since earlier this year.
Meanwhile, a Bermuda-based life insurance business, has hired Alice Tregunna as chief compliance officer. Tregunna previously worked at Ernst & Young as financial crime compliance lead in the firm’s Bermuda offices.
Shelby Bedford has joined Levi, Ray & Shoup, a software firm headquartered in Chicago, as director of compliance. Bedford comes to the firm from the University of Illinois at Springfield, where she had been senior director of access and equity running Title IX compliance.
Tillotts Pharma has hired Andreas Hirner as head of compliance. Hirner comes to the Swiss-based firm, which works on treatments for digestive issues, after 10 years at CSL Vifor, where most recently he had been head of antitrust and excellence programs.
John Redman wins the prize this week for most awesome job title: he’s joining General Motors as senior manager of global dangerous goods compliance. Redman previously worked at Toyota North America for 28 years, most recently as compliance manager for hazardous materials transportation.
Abu Dhabi Ports Group, one of the largest businesses in the Middle East, has hired Imran Zia as director of internal audit. Zia sails into AD Ports from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, where he had been director of risk management and assurance for nearly three years.
And we have two items from HSBC. First, the bank has hired Andrew Williams to be chief risk and compliance officer for its insurance unit based in Bermuda; he comes to the bank after a few years at Deloitte, where he most recently was a manager in the firm’s risk advisory practice. Second, the bank promoted Sumalatha Nair from assistant VP for risk and compliance transformation to VP; she’s based in HSBC’s operations center in India.
Moving Up the Ladder
AIB has promoted Clare Hannon from team lead for AML compliance to head of group AML compliance.
Atom Bank in Scotland has promoted Catherine Swanson from head of credit strategy to chief audit executive.

Kidango has promoted Erin Simpson from nutrition compliance specialist to compliance supervisor.

Vendors and Service Providers
Law firm Cadwalader Wickersham has hired Laura Perkins to join its compliance and investigations practice, poaching her from rival law firm Hughes Hubbard, where she was co-chair of the anti-corruption and investigations group. Some of you might remember Perkins from her days as an FCPA prosecutor at the Justice Department during the Obama Administration.
