Compliance Jobs
This week we begin with another update from TD Bank, which apparently has hired Georgia Stavridis to be vice president for financial crimes risk management. TD Bank, as you might already know, is hiring scads of compliance and audit folks lately to help it clean up a massive anti-money laundering settlement with U.S. authorities earlier this year. Stavridis had previously been chief compliance officer of HSBC’s operations in Canada, until HSBC sold that unit to Royal Bank of Canada earlier this year. TD also just named a new chief auditor, and I suspect other hiring news will keep coming.
Western Union has hired Janice Davis as chief audit officer. Davis joins the money-transfer giant from retail group Aaron’s, where she had been vice president of audit services since 2021.
Adrienne Chase, last seen as chief compliance and privacy officer at Logan Health until this summer, has turned up at Trinity Health, the Michigan-based healthcare operator. She’ll be chief integrity and compliance officer for Trinity’s operations along the West Coast and upper Midwest.
Carly Anderson has departed from Boeing, where she had been a vice president in the legal department handling FAA compliance and other regulatory matters. She landed at Jet Support Services, where she’ll be general counsel and chief strategy officer.
Malvern Panalytical, a manufacturer of life sciences equipment based in Britain, has hired Anthony Arcari as export compliance officer. Arcari comes to the firm from Fusion Worldwide, where he had been a senior analyst for enhanced due diligence and export compliance.
India Trower has joined HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union as compliance director. Trower comes to HawaiiUSA after six years at First National Bank of Texas, where she most recently was senior vice president of compliance. Here’s hoping she gets to spend more time in Hawaii!
In Nigeria, Durojaiye Jamiu has been hired by FBNQuest, the investment banking wing of African financial services giant FBN Holdings; he’ll be an internal controls manager at the firm. Jamiu previously spent 12 years at Union Bank of Nigeria, where he most recently was team lead for internal control in the e-commerce unit.
Ahilbank, one of the larger banks in Oman, has hired Fahad Juma as deputy head of internal audit. Juma had previously worked for Grant Thornton for several years in its U.K. offices as a consultant to financial services firms.
In Jordan, Rami Stephan has been hired by Capital Bank Group as chief internal auditor. Stephan joins Capital Bank after six years at Arab Banking Corp., where he had been head of audit quality assurance and secretary to the board’s audit committee.
Tina Tolliver has a new job as corporate compliance and privacy officer for PHS Management Services, a healthcare consulting firm based in Florida. Tolliver had previously done some solo compliance consulting for the last year or so; prior to that she had been chief ethics and compliance officer at Millennium Physician Group.
Bosch Global Software Technologies, the IT services wing of the German manufacturing giant, has hired Narottam Kumar to be head of compliance. Kumar comes to Bosch from Flipkart, the Indian e-commerce giant, where he had been director of anti-corruption compliance and M&A risk.
Green Dot Corp., the financial services firm, has hired Mike Parkes as a senior audit manager. Parks joins the company from Huntington National Bank, where he had been senior vice president and segment risk officer.
U.S. Bank has hired Joe Wilson as a testing and validation consultant. Wilson previously worked at Truist (still the most terribly named bank in America) for a year as an IT audit manager focusing on SOX compliance.
Hedge fund Freestone Grove Partners has hired Sarah D’Antonio as compliance officer. D’Antonio coms to the fund from Balyasny Asset Management, where she had also been compliance officer.
Dutch environmental services firm ACT Group has hired Nuo Chen as compliance officer. Chen comes to the firm from Bunq, a startup bank in Amsterdam that bills itself as the “bank of the free,” whatever that means. Chen had been regulatory and compliance officer there.
Cherry, a payments startup that specifically focuses on medical bills, has hired Brad Bauer as compliance officer. Bauer comes to the company from Societe Generale, where he had been compliance officer for U.S. regulatory issues in SocGen’s investment banking arm.
German pharmaceutical company BioNTech SE (yes, that BioNTech, that worked with Pfizer to develop the covid vaccine) has hired Dennis Barnes as executive director of U.S. commercial compliance. Barnes comes to the company from advisory firm RSM, where he had been a managing director for most of this year; prior to that Barnes was at Dovetail Consulting (the life sciences compliance consulting firm founded by Jeff Rosenbaum, former CCO at Shire).
And John “J.D.” DiThomas has a new job at Fidelity Investments as vice president of compliance and governance operations in Fidelity’s digital assets division. DiThomas comes to Fidelity from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, where he had been director of compliance and data privacy; prior to that, he had been chief compliance officer at Robinhood.
