Compliance Jobs Report: Jan. 3
Welcome to our first Compliance Jobs Report for 2025, and as usual, it’s a doozie! We have changings of the CCO guard at HCA Healthcare and Vivint; CCO hires at iHerb, Otis Elevator, and elsewhere; a departure at Zoll Medical, a retirement at Coca-Cola, and a slew of promotions, too. Job leads are in banking, health insurance, and good writing.
Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.
We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs
This week we begin at Zoll Medical, where chief compliance and privacy officer Jonathan Turner has announced that he is leaving the company on Jan. 24. Turner has been with Zoll since 2020. What’s next? Turner only said “stay tuned for updates,” which of course Radical Compliance will do.
Next we have a changing of the guard at HCA Healthcare: chief ethics and compliance officer Kathi Whalen is retiring after five years in that role, and 27 years at HCA in total. Succeeding her is Wendy Warren, another HCA veteran. Warren has been with the company more than 10 years and is currently associate general counsel.
And another changing of the guard! Dan Garen says is stepping back from his role as chief ethics and compliance officer at Vivint, maker of smart-home equipment and a subsidiary of NRG. Garen has been CCO since 2021, and will stay on with the company until April, when he’ll shift to a consulting agreement. Lisa Harris, vice president of ethics and compliance there, will succeed him. Garen says he is now “looking for the next wayward company to assist.” One suspects he’ll have no shortage of leads.
Eli Glasser has left his job as chief compliance officer at Tyson Foods to join iHerb, an online retailer of vitamins and other nutrient supplements; he’ll be senior vice president of compliance there. Glasser spent six years in several roles at Tysons, and had been CCO since 2023.
No way to sugar-coat this: Stephanie Hillhouse is calling it a career at Coca-Cola. After 26 years at the soda giant, including 18 of them in various ethics and compliance roles, Hillhouse retired at the end of December. She most recently was senior director of ethics and compliance.
Shane Freedman has a new job as chief compliance officer at Otis Elevator Co. Freedman previously worked at Johnson & Johnson as chief compliance officer in the company’s innovative medicine division.
Clear, that identity management service that lets customers cut the security line at the airport, has hired Jerry Hancock as director of IT audit. Hancock comes to Clear (here’s hoping he gets a free membership as part of the package) after four years at Verizon, where he had been associate director of technology and cybersecurity audit.
Over in Sweden, cryptocurrency platform Safello has hired Tara Abdi as chief compliance officer; she starts there in February. Abdi comes to Safello after six years at Länsförsäkringar, a Swedish insurance business, where most recently she was head of financial crime compliance.
Frank Carey has joined Momentec Brands as customs trade compliance manager. Carey comes to Momentec, maker of Holloway, Augusta Sportswear, and other athletic brands, from Sparx Logistics USA, where he had been a customs broker and U.S. operations manager.
Soitec, a French company that works in semiconductor manufacturing, has hired Juliette Berliat as head of internal audit, internal control, and risk management. Berliat comes to the company after 16 years at Solvay, a chemicals business, where most recently she had been deputy head of internal audit.
Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group has tapped Majed al-Otaibi to be head of compliance for its Saudi Arabia operations. Al-Otabi comes to MUFG from Standard Chartered, where he had been associate director of conduct and financial crime compliance.
A.J. Roberts has joined SkyWater Technology, a semiconductor business in Minnesota, as senior manager of financial reporting and SEC compliance. Roberts previously worked at RSM as a manager in the firm’s technical accounting practice.
Magnera Corp., a components manufacturer, has hired Anne Shelton as director of accounting and compliance. Shelton comes to the company after 10 years at Ernst & Young, most recently as a senior assurance manager.
Tendergrass, a logistics business in the meat and poultry industry, has hired Clark Dobbs as compliance manager. Dobbs comes to the company after 13 years at Keystone Foods, most recently as vice president of the supply chain.
And Team Air Distributing, an HVAC distribution service, has hired Mackenzie McKie as compliance lead. McKie previously spent five years as a shift manager at Starbucks while getting her degree — experience that can prove invaluable dealing with all the characters a compliance professional encounters!

Open Req Orders
Bank of America is looking for a vice president for business selection and conflicts, working in the legal department to review potential conflicts of interest with prospective new investment banking clients. Job has been open since September, is based in New York, and does not list a salary range. Maybe that’s why the role is still unfilled.
