Compliance Jobs Report: Jan. 17

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has updates on compliance folks from Intel and Netflix; new hire news at Citibank, Terumo Medical, Ford, Tenet Healthcare; and elsewhere; plus a slew of promotions. Job leads are in airlines, analytics, and cereal; and Meme of the Week goes out to state attorneys general!

Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.

We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs

This week we start with Carol Tate, last seen as chief compliance officer at Intel until Tate left the company last November. Tate just turned up at Sandvine, a networking software company based in Ontario. She’ll be chief ethics and compliance officer. Tate had been with Intel for nine years and left amid larger cutbacks at the chipmaker.

We have an update on Adam Hunt, former ethics and compliance boss at Netflix who announced rather cryptically last week that he has a new job. Hunt has signed on with Lime, that scooter rideshare business, as its first-ever head of risk and compliance. Not sure whether he gets free scooter access as a perk.

And an update from Christian Ringle, who also hinted last week that she has a new job: Ringle has joined Terumo Medical as healthcare compliance operations manager. Ringle comes to the medical device manufacturer after eight years at Philips in various compliance roles.

By coincidence, Joanna Schrag has also joined a different part of the Terumo Medical empire; she’s working for the Terumo Neuro division as a senior healthcare compliance manager. Schrag previously spent eight years at W.L. Gore (maker of Gore-Tex), most recently as head of anti-corruption compliance and internal controls.

compliance jobsSonali Madaan has joined Citigroup as a vice president of regulatory risk and compliance. Madaan comes to Citi (which is trying to beef up its regulatory compliance capacity thanks to a regulatory settlement last fall) after 11 years at the Macquarie Group in various roles.

Principal Asset Management has hired Kevin McKiernan as director of U.S. core compliance. (This begs the question of whether someone is in charge of non-core compliance…) McKiernan joins Principal from CIBC Private Wealth, where he had been executive director of compliance.

Franciscan Alliance, a hospital system in the Midwest, has hired Nicole Stinson as director of compliance. Stinson comes to Franciscian after six years at Meridian Health Services, where she had been privacy officer.

Juli Lloyd has joined Old Republic Excess & Surplus, a wholesale insurance underwriter, as director of internal audit and regulatory compliance. Lloyd previously worked at Prime Insurance Co. as an internal audit analyst.

LPL Financial has hired Candice Maynard as assistant vice president of risk and compliance. Maynard had previously been a senior compliance analyst at John Hancock Retirement Plan Services for many years.

Rebecca Kidd has left her job as interim head of ethics for Great British Nuclear, to be head of corporate ethics and compliance at Sizewell C, a nuclear power plant that’s been proposed for the East Suffolk Coast part of Britain. Kidd had been at GBN for a year.

Tenet Healthcare has hired Carla Williams as a compliance manager, working from Sacramento. Williams had previously been a compliance manager at Health Net Federal Services

The Antares Vision Group, a technology manufacturer based in Milan, has hired Marc Sinagra to be head of internal audit. Sinagra had been a freelance audit consultant for the last few years; in the 2010s he was head of internal audit for the Prysmian Group

In Australia, Jacinta Pather has joined the Steadfast Group, that country’s largest network of insurance brokers; she’ll be head of internal audit. Prior to Steadfast Pather spent three years as a director in the risk assurance practice for PwC Australia.

Humana has hired Katherine Blink as a senior compliance officer. Blink previously worked at PhyNet Dermatology as a compliance officer.

HealthTeam Advantage has hired Naomi Warren as a compliance specialist. Warren comes to the North Carolina-based insurance business from Southwestern Health Resources, where she had been a compliance associate.

And Mark Kuptz has joined Ford Motor Co. as an internal audit process analyst. Kuptz had previously spent seven years at Bosch as an internal control analyst.

Moving Up the Ladder

Alliant Credit Union has two promotions to note. First, Olga Vinyarskaya has moved up from senior compliance manager for testing and risk assessments to director of compliance. Second, Sarah Brozyna went from senior manager of internal audit to director.

Barclays has promoted Azura Mason from director to managing director and head of the BBPLC compliance office. (It stands for British Barclays PLC, and yes I had to google it.)

Another from Barclays: The bank has also promoted Allison Ciampi from vice president of governance to vice president of Americas compliance. (Anytime someone has “compliance” added to his or her job title that’s automatically a promotion.)

First Solar has promoted Robyn Sautter from deputy chief compliance officer to chief ethics and compliance officer. Nice to see the word “ethics” added to the title!

Grupo Ortiz, an energy infrastructure business based in Spain, has promoted Tarah Begnaud from access control manager and document manager to compliance officer.

RBC (that’s Royal Bank of Canada) has promoted Elena Liu from associate in the audit business program to manager of insurance internal audit.

Sisal Group, a gambling and entertainment business based in Italy, has promoted Martina Viganò from compliance manager to senior manager.

Verizon has promoted Charlie Myers from associate director of internal audit to director.

Open Req Orders

Cereal maker Post Holdings is hiring a vice president of global ethics and compliance. Job is based in St. Louis. No salary range listed, nor any mention of whether you get free Fruity Pebbles, which should totally be part of the package.

Virgin Australia is looking for a senior counsel for ethics and compliance. Job is based in Brisbane, Australia. No salary range listed, but the airline does promise “heavily discounted air travel” for you and family, and the position is open to overseas applicants.

Moody’s is looking for a senior vice president of compliance. Job is based in New York, and like any civilized business, the company lists its salary range: $230,000 to $335,000.
