Compliance Jobs
We begin this week at ZenDesk, the customer service software giant; it just hired Joyce Tong Oelrich as chief compliance officer. Oelrich comes to ZenDesk after a few years at law firm Fenwick & West, where she had been a partner in the firm’s corporate compliance practice; in the 2010s she was head of government contracts compliance at Facebook.
The University of Arizona has hired Bill Harrison as chief audit executive. Harrison comes to the school from the University of Vermont, where he had been chief internal auditor for 15 years. Harrison arrives just in time, too; Arizona is going through several financial audits and is running a budget deficit.
Gerri Dixon has a new job as vice president of enterprise risk management and corporate compliance at Sun Health, an assisted living nonprofit in Phoenix. Dixon comes to Sun from Denova Collaborative Health, where she had been healthcare compliance officer.
FlagStar Bank has hired Darrin McLaughlin as chief AML and sanctions officer. McLaughlin joins Flagstar (the bank that scooped up lots of Signature Bank’s deposits when Signature collapsed back in 2023) from PNC Corp., where he had been head of AML compliance strategy and enterprise KYC officer.
Jared Prentice has been named inspector general for the state of Indiana. Prentice previously worked at Deloitte for a year as a senior manager in its compliance and reporting practice; prior to that he was compliance director at Elevance Health.
Karl Storz, a German maker of endoscopy equipment, has hired Shannon Jamison as director of compliance policies and frameworks in its U.S. operations. Jamison comes to Karl Storz from Agilent Technologies, where she had been global legal compliance operations leader since 2021.
Alpha Cognition, a Canadian biotech company developing treatments for Alzheimers and other neurological disorders, has hired Timothy Ayers as head of compliance. Ayers previously ran his own compliance consulting practice since the 2010s, and had been compliance officer at several other biotech companies along the way.
Jennifer Teerdhala has joined Acuity Brands as director of corporate compliance. She comes to Acuity, maker of lighting equipment for residential and commercial space, from GE Vernova, where she had been global compliance audit leader since 2023.
The Spirax Group, which sounds like a global spy organization but really is just a British industrial equipment manufacturer, has hired Joshua Winnall as internal controls manager. Winnall comes to Spriax from the Chicago Park District, which is exactly what the name implies, where he’d been an auditor.
The Kawan Lama Group, a large retail concern in Indonesia, has hired Samuel Harsono as director of risk management, audit, and compliance. Harnoso comes to Kawan from the Dexa Group, where he had been head of internal audit and compliance.
Radiant Logistics has hired Linton Chua as an internal controls SOX analyst. Chua previously spent three years at PwC Philippines, where he most recently had been a senior assurance associate.
Wendy Boe is the new compliance director at Rhoads, provider of automated compliance management systems to the insurance world. Boe comes to Rhoads from Venbrook Companies, where she had been corporate compliance manager.
Trusted Health, an HR software vendor that caters to the healthcare industry, just hired Jinell Gordon as senior manager for onboarding and compliance. Gordon previously worked for four years at Flexcare Medical Staffing, most recently as lead compliance specialist.
Walkers Global, a boutique law and professional services firm, has hired Tui Iti as chief compliance officer. (I love how overseas law firms have internal compliance officers; more U.S. law firms should do the same.) Iti was last seen at Ogier, another boutique professional services firm, where he had been global head of regulatory consulting.
And Zeinab Abonaem just got a new job at Uber in its Egypt operations as a risk and compliance specialist. Abonaem had previously been a recruiter at Concentrix and several other businesses. Welcome to the profession, Zeinab!

Alexander Kramer, previously assistant chief of the FCPA Unit at the Department of Justice, just decamped from the department (one of many) and turned up at law firm Crowell & Moring as a partner in its white collar defense practice.
Mitchell Sandler, a law firm catering to the financial services industry, has hired Laura Rau as senior adviser. Rau previously had been chief compliance officer at Independent Financial.
