Compliance Jobs Report: Feb. 14

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than the Compliance Jobs Report? This week we have news from Walmart, Bicycle Therapeutics, Pax8, Goldman Sachs, Square, and more. Job leads are in banking, online auctions, and fintech firms; and Meme of the Week goes out law firms feeling the pressure.

Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.

We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at mkelly@radicalcompliance.com or find me on LinkedIn.

First, a Special Note

Before we get to this week’s news of people landing new jobs or promotions in the compliance field, we should note the mass layoffs of government workers that Elon Musk and Donald Trump enacted Thursday night, as well as many others pushed out of their jobs already.

That number includes investigators, government prosecutors, inspectors general, auditors, financial analysts, and many others who work every day with integrity and ethics. They didn’t deserve the shabby treatment this Administration delivers with abandon. Many of these people would be great compliance or audit professionals; please help them if you can.

This mess is likely to get worse before it gets better, both for those individuals and for the United States as a whole, but I remain confident that people who work with integrity will prevail in the long term.

OK, back to business…

Compliance Jobs

This week we begin with Walmart, where chief ethics and compliance officer Matt Miner is stepping down after three years on the job. Miner is moving to KPMG, where he will be the firm’s general counsel. (Miner also served as a senior official in the Justice Department during Trump’s first term.)

The awesomely named Bicycle Therapeutics has hired Sulaiman Qazi as chief ethics and compliance officer. Qazi comes to Bicycle, which is developing cancer treatments based on “bicycle peptides” (whatever those are), after three years as chief compliance officer at Seagen

Pax8, a cloud computing software firm, has hired Marianne Wolf as chief ethics and compliance officer. Wolf comes to the firm (looks like she was a stealth hire in December) after five years at Splunk, where she’d also been chief ethics and compliance officer.

Puri comes to the investment banking giant (working from its India operations center) after six years at Standard Chartered, where he held a similar role for internal audit and credit risk.

Evergreen Bank has hired Daniel Earner (outstanding name for a bank employee!) as a compliance analyst. Earner comes to Evergreen from HSBC, where he worked in financial crimes investigations.

Angel One, a fintech firm in India, has hired Manoj Agarwal as chief compliance officer. Agarwal joins the business from Upstox, another Indian financial services firm, where he had been head of compliance and legal for three years.

Kuveyt Turk Participation Bank, one of the larger banks in Turkey, has promoted Miraç Sönmez from vice president of audits and investigations to head of compliance.

Daniel Yeo has joined Apeiron International as head of group compliance. Yeo comes to the Singapore-based firm, which is a financial services platform for rich people, from AIA Financial Advisers, where he was head of risk and compliance.

Vendors & Service Providers
